In a race lacking obvious pace angles I’m hoping/expecting that Hollie Doyle will make the running on outsider ROMANTIC TIME. Pacesetters enjoyed a big advantage on the straight course here last week and Bill Stone’s filly was an eyecatching 33-1 fourth at Newmarket back in May when best of those to race on the front end. I was disappointed that she didn’t win when we punted her at Yarmouth two runs back – she was ridden patiently when I’d expected her to lead against the nearside rail – and I’m happy to forgive her subsequent Ascot reverse as she’s yet to place from three runs at the Berkshire venue.
