4.10 Redcar – KHABIB (0.5pt E/W – 10/1 Bet365, 7/1 generally)
With rain around on watered going it’s hard to call the likely draw advantage, if any, on Redcar’s straight course though it’s probable that early pace will trump draw bias if the weather forecast is correct. It looks like there will be a very strong tailwind on the straight and it could be a good day for front-runners. KHABIB looks the pace angle in this 6f handicap and might be able to hold on for a sixth career win. He was only sixth at Thirsk on his latest outing but did second best of those to race up with the pace and runner-up Brazen Bolt, best of the prominent racers, went one better when returned to Thirsk for his next outing.
5.45 Yarmouth – STONE CIRCLE (1pt E/W – 8/1 Bet365, 7/1 generally)
STONE CIRCLE did best of those to come from off the pace when third in a Class 3 Racing League Handicap at Chepstow on his latest outing and will appreciate the return to Yarmouth and drop to Class 4 level. Michael Bell’s six-year-old arrived late to score narrowly over course and distance on his penultimate start and his full Yarmouth record reads 31711 (3-5), improving to 1711 (3-4) over 5f only. It looks like the strong forecast wind will be into their faces and if he can get cover from stall 10, he’ll be hard to keep out of the frame.
