LIMERICK 2.45
SAINT BERNADETTE – 1pt e/w (12/1 generally)
SAINT BERNADETTE raced closer to the inside rail than ideal when a 10-1 third in maiden hurdle company at Sligo last month and can be backed to break her duck in this 2m5f handicap hurdle. Riann, another ‘swamp dweller’ in that contest, was seven lengths back in fifth and he came out to win a Cork handicap hurdle off 116 last Sunday. Saint Bernadette has been dropped 1lb to just 93 for her Sligo effort and can be supported each-way.
LIMERICK 3.15
WILD CAPRICE – 1pt e/w (12/1 generally)
Like Saint Bernadette (see above), WILD CAPRICE took the ‘swamp’ route’ when only tenth of 16 in the 3m1.5f handicap hurdle at the Sligo meeting on October 21st. The 20-1 shot was beaten by 20 lengths but that was a fair effort in the circumstances, and we’ve already seen the fifth from that race – Carrig Carol – come out and win since. The downside is her 18-rce maiden status but she’s hit the frame in more than 50% of her starts for her current yard and can reward each-way support in a weak contest.
