2.50 Ffos Las – TOP TARGET (1.5pt win – 5/1 Bet365, 9/2 generally)
The Kim Bailey-trained TOP TARGET was beaten at odds of 4-6 at Wincanton last time but clearly didn’t enjoy the right-handed track, jumping out to his left throughout on his way to a two-and-a-half-length second. He won well at Wetherby last month on his latest left-handed outing and looks a likely improver on his handicap debut. This track should suit, and he’ll relish the soft conditions.
3.35 Lingfield – AFTER THE FOX (1pt win – 11/1 Bet365, 10/1 generally)
AFTER THE FOX was beaten by a massive 85 lengths when fifth of 16 at Leicester last time but has rarely shown form right-handed track, recording figures of 866F78065 (0-9) when racing in that direction. On left-handed tracks, his record stands at 714260241547 (2-12) for a profit of £5.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. On ground judged to be soft or heavy according to race times (not the official verdict) his left-handed figures improve to 122154 (2-6) for a profit of £11.00. Today’s ground might be a shade faster than preferred but the track will suit and he’s worth chancing to small stakes at a nice price.
