Excellent Review

4.17 Hamilton – SLAINTE MHATH (1pt E/W – 9/1 Bet365, 13/2 Betfair, 9/2 generally)

Low draws have an excellent recent record in 6f races at Hamilton and, since the start of last year, had we simply bet stalls 1, 2 and 3 blind we would have won 30 of our 144 bets and made a huge profit of £246.68 to a £1 level stake at SP. Katie Scott’s five-year-old SLAINTE MHATH kept on strongly to score by almost two lengths from stall 2 of 8 over course and distance on her latest turf outing, taking her record over 6f on officially good to soft or softer going to 21173121 (4-8). It’s easy to excuse her subsequent blowout on Southwell’s Tapeta – she’s 0-8 on the all-weather and the 7f trip didn’t suit – and she has the best of the draw today in stall 1.

4.52 Hamilton – HARD SOLUTION (1.5pt win – 4/1 Bet365, 3/1 generally) + RED ALLURE (0.5pt win – 7/1 generally)

HARD SOLUTION has won eight of his 38 races between June and September for a profit of £42.00 to a £1 level stake at SP and he returned to form with a 15-2 Hamilton win last Thursday. His record in this four-month period when returned to the track within ten days of his previous run stands at seven wins from 18 starts for a profit of £53.00. Ruth Carr’s seven-year-old has a useful draw in stall 4 (the middle of the track is the place to be in sprints at this venue) and he can follow up.

I want to save on likely pace angle RED ALLURE, who makes her debut for Adrian Nicholls. Owners Mia Racing tend to swap yards with great regularity and in Nicholls they’ve found a trainer who often gets a tune out of new recruits at the first time of asking, scoring with seven of the 53 qualifiers for a profit of £33.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Red Allure is two from four over course and distance and, though the recent rain is not ideal, she’s 4lb lower than when scoring here in September and will be dangerous if allowed to dominate.
