5.30 Ripon – POINT OF WOODS (0.5pt E/W – 66/1 Bet365, 40/1 generally)
POINT OF WOODS has caught the eye on more than one occasion this season, most notably when a repeatedly-hampered 18-1 ninth of 11 over 6f at Ripon in early June. He wasn’t disgraced from a poor wide draw at Redcar last time, finishing just over five lengths back in a 66-1 tenth of 18, and could make the frame at a big price.
6.00 Ripon – OSO RAPIDO (1pt win – 11/2 William Hill + 888Sport, 5/1 generally)
OSO RAPIDO usually thrives at this time of year and showed a willing attitude to get the better of Bayraat by a head after a prolonged tussle with the runner-up at Redcar last month when a selection for this column. He clocked a good time for that performance, handles Ripon, and looks worth a small interest to follow up.
