FRANCISCO attracted some market support when an 8-1 fifth of eight at Newmarket on last month’s debut and the runner-up, third and fourth from that 7f maiden all won at the next time of asking.

NELSON GAY was repeatedly denied a clear run when mid-division at Redcar last time and I’m surprised that he’s not trading as favourite on his return to the all-weather. Michael Dods’ five-year-old has a five from 12 on synthetics -as opposed to just one from 23 on turf – including Tapeta/Fibresand figures of 111411 (5-6), with the sole defeat at 11-1 on his stable debut when best of those ridden patiently.
