AURORA GLORY caught the eye when a 33-1 third of 17 on her nursery debut at Catterick last September. The early pace held up in that soft-ground 6f contest, with the winner (‘prominent, led and going best against near rail over 2f out’) and runner-up (‘close up towards near side’) in the van throughout. Aurora Glory fared best of those to come from off the pace and looks well drawn in stall 10, assuming that the runners come stands’ side in the straight. I’ve saved on THORNABY BEAUTY, who might appreciate the return to a left-handed track for the first time since her narrow 25-1 Southwell second in a race that worked out well.

TOLLARD ROYAL looks well drawn in stall 2 for this 1m handicap and first-time out could be when to catch him. George Boughey’s four-year-old won by three and a half lengths over course and distance on his juvenile debut and was two and a half lengths clear of his nearest rival when successful on his reappearance at Beverley last term. It’s also possible that he simply needs a right-handed track, as his record over 7f-1m in this direction reads 112 (2-3), with the defeat by three-quarters of a length.
