SUPASUNRISE did really well to finish second in a 2mf handicap chase at Leicester last time, as he was constantly pestered for the lead and the race was set up for the closers, with the winner, third and fourth described by the Racing Post as ‘held up in rear’, ‘midfield’ and ‘held up in rear’. Nigel Twiston-Davies’ eight-year-old could be in receipt of an easy lead here and is worth a bet.
4.25 Kempton – LOCAL BAY (1pt ew – 10/1 bet365)
Stall 11 is the off-putter where LOCAL BAY is concerned in this 7f apprentice handicap but Tony Carroll’s six-year-old comes from off the pace, so is likely to be switched towards the inside before, hopefully, coming with a late rattle off a strong gallop. He has a good record at this time of year and suggested that his turn was near when keeping on into a 12-1 fourth behind How Impressive (re-opposes here) at Lingfield last week. This four-time Tapeta winner did well to finish so close after challenging on the ‘dead’ rail in the straight and though yet to score on Polytrack, he’s only had one run on the surface for his current yard.
