NEWCASTLE 3.20
VENTUROUS – 1pt win (10/1 generally)

VENTUROUS has an eight from 24 record on the all-weather for a profit of £41.25 to a £1 level stake at SP and there could still be a race or two in the ten-year-old. He tends to struggle on sand in the warmer months, winning eight of his 18 all-weather starts from November to early April, with Newcastle figures in that time frame of 11111 (5-5). He looks set to encounter the required strong pace, despite the small field, and the outside of the entire field is worth a small interest.

KEMPTON 5.30
LITTLE EDI – 1pt win (5/1 generally)

Progeny of the sire Rajasinghe are five from 14 when wearing any form of headgear for a profit of £12.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. Three of those wins (from eight runners) came in first-time headgear, two in first-time cheekpieces, headgear that LITTLE EDI sports today. Richard Spencer’s gelding ran well over an inadequate trip on his sole previous Polytrack start and the booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye.
