7.30 Wolverhampton – GOD OF THUNDER (1.5pt win – 10/3 generally)
GOD OF THUNDER was desperately unlucky to bump into the well-handicapped PROPHET’S DREAM when a 4.75-length runner-up in a 1m2f handicap at Bath in May and the winner defied an 11lb higher marker at Leicester next time. Richard Hannon’s four-year-old has only had one subsequent outing, finishing a two-length second to General Citizen over 1m5f on the Polytrack at Lingfield. He raced closer to the early pace than ideal that day and the winner is wow rated 12lb higher after going in again since. Third-placed Age Of Sail, who also raced up with the pace, won his next two starts to further boost the form. God Of Thunder is 0-3 on the all-weather but all those runs took place under prominent rides at Lingfield where it’s hard to make the running and the switch to Wolverhampton, a track that has been strongly favouring early pace this autumn/winter, could suit.
