    2.15 Lingfield – LOADED GUN (1pt win – 4/1 generally)

    LOADED GUN impressed me when a short-head second at 10-1 in a 7f Class 4 handicap at Lingfield last time as he took the inside route against the ‘dead’ rail from his poor draw in stall 2. Andrew Balding’s three-year-old shaped as though the step up to 1m will suit and with pace on his inside, especially from Charlie Johnston’s There’s No Limit, Callum Hutchinson should be able to keep him away from the deep stuff on the inside.

    2.25 Catterick – HAJEY (2pt win – 11/2 William Hill)

    HAJEY did this column a favour when landing a four-runner course and distance handicap at odds of 4-1 on December 28th, a run that took his Catterick record to U211 (2-4). That could easily have been four from four but for some shoddy jumping and Tracy Waggott’s seven-year-old has always gone well at this time of year, including form figures in January/February of 3111 (3-4). He could be in receipt of an easy lead today and he looks a good bet to follow up.
