Talented mare ARAMIS GREY usually runs at Chelmsford, close to Rae Guest’s yard in Newmarket, but her come-from-behind style often makes life difficult for her at the Essex venue. She won well there on her latest start and the return to Kempton, where her record stands at a 6f win and half-length runner-up effort over 7f from just two starts, looks a good idea. Ideally, she needs them to go hard up front and she should get conditions to suit with Emperor Spirit and Apollo One in opposition.

KOEMAN goes well in small fields (10 or fewer runners) over trips of 1m2f-1m5f, below Class 2 level, winning eight of his 29 starts under such conditions for a profit of £50.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Mick Channon’s veteran finished well beaten over course and distance last month but that was his first start since April and was no doubt needed. On the all-weather only, those figures become to 13112153242 (4-11), suggesting frame claims tonight. He looks set to encounter the required strong gallop with Dubai Leader likely to take them along and he’s worth a small each-way interest on what is now a quiet day thanks to abandonment of Nottingham where I had three or four intended bets.
