MOTAWAAZY – 1pt e/w (9/2 generally)
MOTAWAAZY caught the eye at Catterick on his penultimate start, doing best of those to come from off the pace when sixth of ten in a 7f handicap on heavy going. He finished a solid second over 6f at the same venue next time and the return to a stiff 5f is unlikely to inconvenience, as three of his seven rivals can make the running and they often go too fast in apprentice handicaps. He’s going to be hard to kick out of the frame, assuming Jonny Peate doesn’t do anything daft like try to live with the pacesetters in the early stages. I’ve saved on ERNEST RUTHERFORD.

WILLARD CREEK – 1pt e/w (14/1 generally)
David Barron’s WILLARD CREEK, reappearing after a 240-day absence and sent off at 33-1, did well to finish just eight lengths behind the winner in a 1m handicap here on April 24th as his high draw and patient running style were at a disadvantage. The winner has gone in again since and he’s worth chancing from a useful draw in stall 5 now stepped up to 1m2f for the first time.

CHINDIT isn’t quite up to Group 1 level, recording form figures in such company of 955346 (0-6). However, at a lower level he’s quite prolific, recording figures of 111143118 (6-9) for a profit of £12.87 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those include a two-from-two haul here at Ascot and he could be hard to beat in this Listed company. He’s not been on the track since August but is three from three on his seasonal debuts.
