3.12 Nottingham – RAY VONN (1pt win – 9/2 Bet365, 11/4 generally) + HEY MR (1pt win – 12/1 Bet365, 9/1 generally)

RAY VONN was a big eyecatcher at Newmarket on his latest outing, doing best of the closers when a three-quarters of a length 14-1 fourth of 11 in a 6f handicap on good ground. That run took his record to 0-11 but he looks worth a bet now racing on deep ground for the first time. Backing all progeny of his sire Galileo Gold on good to soft or softer going on the Flat (time based, not the official going) would have found 18 winners from 144 bets for a profit of £96.63 to a £1 level stake at SP.

I also want to side with HEY MR, who looks very interesting now returned to Nottingham where his record reads 13312 (2-5). The son of Territories won’t have an issue with the deep ground and though four lengths behind today’s favourite Concierge when runner-up to that one at Brighton last time, that was his debut for Alexandra Dunn and is might have been needed.
