It’s been typically difficult to win from a high draw over 6f at Hamilton this season and that was certainly the case in the Class 4 handicap on May 14th in which Quintus Arrius (stall 3 of 12) beat Mountain Warrior (stall 2) into second place. Two horses caught the eye from high draws that day, third-placed INSTALLATION (stall 12) and fourth-placed Mereside Diva (stall 11). The last-named won a 6f handicap at Nottingham on her next outing and Installation bids to follow suit today. Richard Fahey’s three-year-old is unlikely to have an issue with the quicker ground – he started as favourite at Thirsk to beat the now 113-rated Marshman on his sole previous try on good to firm, finishing fourth after becoming upset in the stalls.
