Looking to kick off the week in fine style, GG’s resident tipster Andrew Mount has two tips for the action on Monday 10th November at Kempton Park…

2.30 Kempton – EYED (1pt win – 11/2 William Hill)
Last year, this 2m5f Pertemps Qualifier featured a three-way battle for the lead which helped set the race up for the only other runner – the patiently ridden Pyramid Place, who was massively flattered and beaten by 14L, 25L, 40L, 32L, 19L and 32L in his six subsequent starts. It’s possible that this year’s renewal could again feature a pace collapse as we have two out-and-out pacesetters in opposition – IDY WOOD and SIXTY PLUS, who opened at 4-1 and 11-4f respectively when William Hill issued their early prices on Sunday afternoon. If the front-runners cut each other’s throats, the one to take advantage could be EYED. Hughie Morrisson’s eight-year-old enjoyed a good first season for his current trainer after Paul Webber’s retirement, recording form figures of 21F11224 (3-8) with all the runs taking place in handicap chase company. He signed off last term with a four-length fourth to Mark Of Gold in a valuable Class 2 novices’ handicap chase at Sandown and that form has received several recent boosts, with runner-up Mahons Glory placing in the Grand Sefton last Saturday, third-placed Inedit Star chasing home subsequent Haldon Gold Cup winner Thistle Ask in a premier handicap chase at Wetherby, fifth-placed Bad making a winning reappearance here at Kempton last month, sixth home Pic Roc scoring at Huntingdon earlier this month and the seventh, Riskintheground, upsetting Blueking d’Oroux at Newton Abbot. Eyed runs off a 5lb lower mark on his first hurdles run for Morisson, who has saddled two winners (10-1 and 11-2) from his last four runners to revert from fences to hurdles. The latest of those winners was Third wind who landed a Pertemps Qualifier at Wincanton in December 2019 before placing in the Pertemps Final itself on his next start, doing best of the British-trained runners behind Sire Du Berlias, The Storyteller and Tout Est Permis.
3.05 Kempton – SHE IS FOR ME BOYS (1pt win – 9/4 bet365)
ILOVETHENIGHTLIVE won this 2m4.5f mares’ handicap chase last year but the Joe Tizzard’s chasers have been slow to get going this season. Last year, the yard had 13 chase winners (from 61 runners) between August 1st and November 30th but the score in 2025 stands at 0-27 (expected winners = 3.78). I also want to be against top weight POPOVA, who has left the Henry De Bromhead yard since we last saw her, and SHANTWOPOINTFIVE, who has shown a preference for racing on left-handed tracks. GEORGI GIRL has possibilities for the in-form Hobbs and White yard. She’s two from three on her seasonal debuts though is 0-4 over fences and has yet to convince in the jumping department. Of greater interest is chase debutante SHE IS FOR ME BOYS, a winner from the front at Fontwell the last twice. Jamie Snowden’s six-year-old won her sole point-to-point start and her yard does well with chase newcomers that are pitched straight into handicap company.

Former Group 1 winner to make surprise return to the track
A fascinating runner appeared in the provisional entries for York’s Dante meeting next month. The Roger Teal-trained Oxted was last seen in 2021 when third to Starman, now a successful stallion, in Group 1 July Cup. The son of Mayson was a dual Group 1 winner in his pomp, landing the 2020 July Cup and…
