Andrew Mount sticks to the flat action on Tuesday, with his three top tips on the day coming from Catterick in the afternoon and Wolverhampton in the evening.

3.40 Catterick – STATION X (1pt win – 7/4 generally)
One of my angles for the last couple of weeks of the Flat turf season is to oppose well-drawn winners from Pontefract’s meetings on October 6th/20th where there was a very strong low-draw bias. One such runner is THE GOOD BISCUIT who won a 5f handicap from stall 1 on the 20th. His stall 2 of 10 draw could prove troublesome today if the runners come across to the stands’ side rail in the straight – a likely scenario given the soft ground – and I’d rather side with STATION X from stall 7. Bryan Smart’s three-year-old looks the likeliest leader and he fared best of the prominent racers when runner-up to Lord Bertie at Doncaster on Saturday. He was well drawn that day, but it was still a useful effort in a good time and he could be hard to catch if getting across to the rail first.
5.30 Wolverhampton – CORONADO KING (2pt win – 15/8 888sport, 7/4 generally)
It’s fair to say that HOSTILITY – the odds-on favourite for this 6f maiden – has proved expensive to follow in his career thus far, tasting defeat at odds of 6-1, 7-2, 4-1, 11-10f, 8-11f and 2-1 when with Joseph O’Brien in Ireland. Mick Appleby hasn’t been able to turn around his fortunes, with his two runs for his new yard resulting in Redcar reverses as the 4-5 favourite and 8-13 favourite. Take on the jolly with CORONADO KING, who makes his debut for Archie Watson this evening after two runs for Charlie Appleby. His new yard does well with stable switchers, scoring with 41 of the 179 qualifiers (22.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £62.82 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£102.11 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). Five of the qualifiers came from Appleby and three won (12-1, 100-30 and 4-9), all of them on the all-weather. The son of Exceed And Excel is bred for all-weather surfaces and has been gelded since June’s 8-1 fifth of 13 at Kempton.
7.00 Wolverhampton – SIMIYANN (1.5pt win – 11/2 William Hill, 888sport, 5/1 generally)
SIMIYANN was added to my tracker after his eighth of ten at Sandown in early June where he ruined his chance by taking the ‘swamp’ route on the inside rail. Ian Williams’ five-year-old finished a creditable 16-1 fourth at Chester next time and scored at Ffos Las shortly afterwards, with that success coming off today’s mark of 68. He could only finish a modest third on Tapeta at Southwell last time, but that race was won in impressive fashion by a Ralph Beckett-trained three-year-old – New York Minute – and he faces nothing of that calibre now returned to what is arguably his favourite venue. His three runs here below Class 4 level have returned form figures of 211 (2-4), with the runner-up effort by a short head at 14-1. Billy Loughnane, eight from 24 here when riding for Ian Williams (+£7.38 to a £1 level stake at SP), retains the ride.
