Beverley Racing Tips (Saturday 30 May 2026)
Seven races take place at Beverley on Saturday 30 May, with a 1.45pm start. Steve has two selections for the racing at the Yorkshire track.
2.15 Beverley – Kodi Bear Light (1pt win – 3/1)
Archie Watson’s Cosmic Mystery is an interesting newcomer in the Hilary Needler at 2.15pm, but it could be wise to stick with one that has racecourse experience. Karl Burke’s Kodi Bear Light ran creditably on debut when finishing second and the daughter of Kodi Bear built on that effort next time up when winning at Thirsk. Sent off odds-on that day, she pulled a length clear of her rivals and shaped like there’s a lot more to come. This is a notable step up in class, but she has shown she could be a decent sprinter this campaign and looks the solid option in an intriguing event.
2.48 Beverley – Arapaho Gold (1pt win – 9/2)
Well backed on her racecourse debut at Thirsk at the start of this month, Arapaho Gold decisively kicked off her career with a win and the Michael Dods-trained youngster can make it two wins from two on Saturday in the 2.48pm. Stepping up into conditions company for this race, she will need to improve again, but she shaped like she could be more than capable of landing more success. The likes of Matteo and Big Cigar also come into the race unbeaten and have huge potential, but the Dods raider can down her rivals in what should be a race full of potential.
Carlisle Racing Tips (Saturday 30 May 2026)
Eight races make up Carlisle’s fixture, with a 1.30pm start. The action goes all the way through until 5.28pm and we have two picks for the day.
2.00 Carlisle – Rousing Encore (1pt win – 10/1)
Ruth Carr’s Rousing Encore has struggled of late, but has slipped back down to a workable mark of 86 and he can strike in the 2.00pm at Carlisle. The last time he was seen off this figure was when he finished third in a 22-runner sprint handicap at Doncaster. This is a similarly tough assignment, but he showed when second at Newcastle off 87 back in March that he continues to be able to perform to a decent level. He’s found his last few outings tough, so will need to bounce back, but he’s a class act on his day and looks a value play at double-figured odds, at the time of writing.
3.45 Carlisle – Princling (1pt win – 3/1)
Sent off a hot favourite for a Wetherby novice event at the end of last month, Princling cruised to victory for William Haggas. Now, the son of Frankel will look to make it two wins on the spin when lining up in the 3.45pm at Carlisle. Well fancied for this contest, he’s been given an initial mark of 87 in what looks a wide open Silver Bowl Handicap. Having yet shown his best on the track, the Haggas raider can duly use this Carlisle event as a springboard to bigger and better things. The attractively bred performer is one that could continue to blossom this campaign and he could well make a mockery of his mark and serenely dispatch his rivals.
