Catterick Racing Tips (Wednesday 8th July 2026)
It’s a 2.00pm start for Catterick’s six-race card, which concludes at 4.30pm. Steve has two selections across the afternoon from the Yorkshire track.
2.30 Catterick – Bellatina (1pt win – 3/1)
Second on debut, Charlie Johnston’s Bellatina then struggled on her next two outings. However, she seemed to recapture her form last time out when second at Hamilton. She will venture into nurseries for the first time in the 2.30pm on Wednesday and could be capable of giving weight away. She’s only been upped 1lb for that Hamilton second position, but shaped like there could be more to come and she can down a host of adversaries that have yet to sparkle on the track.
3.30 Catterick – Masaban (1pt win – 100/30)
Ed Bethell’s Masaban made a mockery of his initial British mark of 60 when scooting to a four-length victory at Ripon back in May. However, he’s struggled to follow that up on his last two outings, but can bounce back on Wednesday in the 3.30pm at Catterick. Taking his chance off 70 here, he found himself to free during his last race at Pontefract, where he finished fifth. If he can be held together a little better in this 7f 6y contest then he could well still have potential off his current mark. A really competitive betting heat, the likes of Dacres Cross and Starryfield are notable rivals, but Masaban is the one to side with.
Yarmouth Racing Tips (Wednesday 7 July 2026)
Six races make up Yarmouth’s flat card on Wednesday afternoon, with the racing getting started at 2.15pm. We have two more selections to complete the Lucky 15.
2.15 Yarmouth – Allegrino (1pt win – 4/1)
Andrew Balding and William Buick team up with a progressive filly in the shape of Allegrino in the 2.15pm at Yarmouth. The daughter of Oasis Dream has been placed in her last five outings and she can duly continue that excellent form here. She made her turf debut at Salisbury last month, where she finished a creditable third. Now stepping on grass for the second time in her career, the three-year-old can benefit from a 1lb drop in the handicap and strike here. She runs off 67 in this contest, which looks more than attractive, if she can step up again from that Salisbury run.
4.45 Yarmouth – Zafaan (1pt win – 15/8)
A winner at Yarmouth over Wednesday’s course and distance 12 days ago, Zafaan can blossom once again at the East Anglian track in the final race on the card at 4.45pm. Charlie Clover’s charge won a Classified Stakes by a neck that day, but steps back into handicap company for this event. It’s likely to be a more competitive field lining up here, but he’s shown he’s in great form and he can continue his winning ways at the track and help punters end the day with a winner.
