Doncaster, Newmarket & Curragh Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Friday 26 June

Doncaster, Newmarket & Curragh Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Friday 26 June

The weather cools ever so slightly on Friday, but racing continues to adapt for the weather. There is action from 10.15am right through to 8.53pm for punters as the weekend approaches.

Andrew Mount starts early with his first of three selections on Friday. His Doncaster tip runs in the morning, with two late afternoon tips from Newmarket and the Curragh.

Doncaster Racing Tips (Friday 26 June 2026)

Doncaster’s card begins early on Friday due to the weather. Andrew’s first tip runs before lunch, in the fourth race at the meeting.

11.15 Doncaster – Zubaru (1pt win – 4/1 bet365)

Zubaru has a good record on straight tracks on turf, recording form figures of 2245112 (2-7), improving to 112 (2-3) over 7f only, with the defeat by a head. His three runs at Doncaster produced a second place to Fast Track Harry (subsequently rated as high as 99) in a 6f novice, a second-best-of-the-closers 10-1 fourth when fitted with first-time cheekpieces in a 6f handicap and a 7f handicap win. Right-handed Musselburgh didn’t play to his strengths last time where he finished fourth as the 7-4 favourite and, while I would prefer this race to be over 7f not 6f, he’s still worth a bet.

Newmarket Racing Tips (Friday 26 June 2026)

Eight races take place on the July Course at Newmarket, with Andrew’s tip being a confident two-point win selection in race three.

5.50 Newmarket – Angel Shared (2pt win – 6/1)

Angel Shared was sent off as the 11-4 favourite for a 5f Bath handicap last month on the back of April’s solid 40-1 fifth of 14 in Listed company at the same venue but she had to settle for a close-up third. Steph Hollinshead’s five-year-old, prominent in the early stages, lost her position mid-race before staying on again at the business end and that trip looks on the short side for her nowadays. She can be forgiven her subsequent Haydock defeat where Listed level again proved beyond her but she looks very interesting now back in fillies’ handicap company at her favourite venue. The daughter of Harry Angel has form figures on Newmarket’s July Course of 3111 (3-4), with the defeat when 22-1 on unsuitably soft ground. Small-field expert Shallow could be the one for the forecast.

Curragh Racing Tips (Friday 26 June 2026)

It is day one of Curragh’s Irish derby meeting on Friday. Andrew’s tip runs in a competitive 18-runner handicap, the fourth of eight races on the card.

6.10 Curragh – Invincible Will (1pt win – 9/2)

I was strong on Gavoo at Naas on Wednesday night, but he had to settle for a close-up second of two in a race not run to suit. The reason for that bet was the form of his ninth place to Invincible Will at the Curragh on May 23rd, a race run in a fast time that is working out well. The runner-up and seventh from that contest both scored at the next time of asking and tonight we get the chance t side with the winner himself. Gavin Cromwell’s three-year-old clearly loves this track, recording form figures of 311 (2-3),with the defeat in a first-time hood when possibly needing a run to get used to the headgear. He’s gone up 5lb for his latest win but is clear of these on last-time out speed and looks worth a bet to follow up.
