One of the grandest occasions in sport occurs on Saturday. Epsom Derby day is steeped in history, with the 247th running of the ultimate Classic taking place this weekend.
Andrew Mount has scoured every race on the Epsom Derby card. He has three tips on the day, including a 150/1 shot in the Derby itself.
Epsom Racing Tips (Saturday 6 June 2026)
The Epsom Derby takes place at 4pm for those tuning in. Andrew has an outstanding each-way tip in that race, as well as two others at the meeting.
2.05 Epsom – Love Dynasty (0.5pt e/w – 20/1 generally)
They were favouring the near side rail at Epsom yesterday and, with 6mm of rain forecast to fall before racing today, those drawn high who can race on the fence could enjoy an even bigger edge. Love Dynasty (stall 7 of 8) caught the eye when a poorly-drawn third of 18 in a listed contest at Saint Cloud and shaped well on unsuitably fast ground at Nottingham on her comeback in late April, finishing fourth to See The Fire (winner again since) in another Listed contest. The more rain the better.
3.15 Epsom – Ziggy’s Triton (0.5pt e/w – 50/1 William Hill)
I napped Ziggy’s Triton on GG’s Weekend Watch (YouTube and Podcast) on Thursday and am pleased to see he’s still available at a big price. David O’Meara’s four-year-old has possibly been unsuited to the track at York the last twice, finishing a 33-1 15th of 21 and a 28-1 seventh of 16. However, he was poorly drawn towards the stands’ side in the first of those races and only went down by three lengths in the other one. I was taken with his Musselburgh success three runs back where he broke well on the outside, pressed teh strong early pace, and gradually worked his way across to the rail. Stall 2 of 20 looks poor on paper today but stalls 1 or 2 have provided a winner (three times) or a placed runner (four times) in seven of the last ten renewals and early speed could be more important than the draw.
4.00 Epsom – Alderman (0.5pt e/w – 150/1 bet365, Hills, Paddy Power, three places, 125-1 BetMGM, Boylesports, four places)
The 200-1 four places available about Alderman when I tipped him up on Weekend Watch has gone but he’s still worth an each-way nibble to give us some interest in the Derby. There’s likely to be a rush for the near side rail and with Richard Hannon’s son of Study Of Man likely to be ridden patiently, he could stay on into the frame and avoid the crowding up the fence. He improved when chasing home the exciting Water To Wine (winner again since) in a fast time in a 1m3f Newbury maiden on his latest assignment, emerging clear best of those to come from off the pace, and he looks over-priced.
