Andrew Mount knocked in a 10/1 winner on Saturday and is looking to continue his fine form on Sunday 5 April. He has a trio of tips with his best bets running at Fairyhouse, Plumpton and Southwell.
Grosvenor have a fabulous welcome offer for horse racing punters as they are offering Double The Odds to a maximum £10 stake.
Fairyhouse Racing Tips (Sunday 5 April 2026)
Fairyhouse host a quality National Hunt fixture on Sunday and Andrew has a solid selection in the 3.50pm contest.
3.50 Fairyhouse – Place De La Nation (0.5pt e/w – 10/1 generally, Sky Bet four places)
I wrote the following about Place De La Nation after her defeat at Fairyhouse on February 3rd…
“Mark Walsh steered Gordon Elliott’s 1-2 favourite OLDSCHOOL OUTLAW to a nine-length victory over 13-8 shot PLACE DE LA NATION in the Grade 3 Solerina Mares Novices Hurdle but Willie Mullins’ runner-up can be forgiven this as she took the ‘swamp’ route under Paul Townend. This was the five-year-old’s first defeat in three starts since her four-length 100-1 fifth of 17 to Poniros in last season’s Triumph Hurdle and she wouldn’t look out of place in the Dawn Run if making a return trip to the Cheltenham festival next month.”
She did indeed contest the Dawn Run, finishing close third at 28-1, and looks worth an each-way punt against her old rival Oldschool Outlaw, runner-up in the Dawn Run, in a race in which her trainer does well.
Plumpton Racing Tips (Sunday 5 April 2026)
National Hunt racing in the UK takes place at Plumpton, with Andrew having a big-priced pick in the 4.05pm event.
4.05 Plumpton – Inside Man (0.5pt e/w – 25/1 generally)
Inside Man was reportedly never travelling when failing to live up to his 3-1 favourite tag at Newbury in early November when we last saw him, trailing home almost 26 lengths behind the winner in seventh place. The patient tactics employed that day were far from helpful though the subsequent absence suggests a physical issue and that run is safely ignored. Jane Williams’ six-year-old scored at Newton Abbot on his reappearance, has won on the spring before and enjoys fast ground, all of which point to a big run at a big price this afternoon.
Southwell Racing Tips (Sunday 5 April 2026)
All-weather action comes from Southwell, where you will need to wait for the latter part of the meeting for Andrew’s best bet.
5.20 Southwell – Lednikov (1pt win – 7/2 Paddy Power)
Lednikov is six from 17 on the all-weather at Southwell for a profit of £40.88 to a £1 level stake at SP (expectdc winnees = 1.87, A/E = 3.21) and he bounced back to form with an emphatic success over 1m6f here last time. The handicapper has showed him up 8lb to 59 but he’s won off higher marks in the past and does seem to thrive in spring, winning three of his six course starts in March/April (+£25.50). His latest win was backed up by the clock and he can follow up.
