Goodwood & Perth Racing Tips - Steve Chambers' Lucky 15 Tips for Sunday 7 June

Four horse racing fixtures taking place on Sunday 7th June, but our tipster Steve Chambers focuses the Lucky 15 tips on the action at Goodwood and Perth. Competitive flat action takes place at the former, whilst there’s jumping action at the latter. Check out his best four bets across Sunday here…

Goodwood Racing Tips (Sunday 7th June 2026)

Goodwood’s fixture starts at 1.50pm, with seven races taking place throughout the afternoon. Check out Steve’s best bets at the south coast venue…

1.50 Goodwood – Toyotomi (1pt win –)

Seven Questions landed a long-awaited victory last time out, but he’s been very inconsistent in recent seasons, so is worth taking on in the opener at 1.50pm. David O’Meara’s top-weighted Toyotomi has been slipping down the handicap of late, but ran his best race for a while last time out at Thirsk. Rated 92 that day, he finished a fine third and the handicapper has been kind and kept him on the same figure for this event. He was rated in the 100s at his best, so if he can build on that Thirsk success then the son of Blue Point can bound to victory.

3.35 Goodwood – Botagoz (1pt win – )

Roger Varian’s Botagoz failed to make it three out of three when finishing third in a quality listed event at York. However, the daughter of Mehmas can return to winning ways in the listed contest at Goodwood at 3.35pm. She wasn’t disgraced that day on the Knavesmire, where she was beaten by Lilt and So Regal. She may have found the trip a little short that day, as she was doing all her best work in the closing stages. She steps up to near 1m 2f for this contest, and whilst the likes of Rose Ghaiyyath and Sacred Ground look dangers, Varian’s charge can outclass them.

Perth Racing Tips (Sunday 7th June 2026)

Seven races make up the National Hunt meeting at Perth, with a 2.07pm start. Check out Steve’s two selections from the action north of the border.

3.52 Perth – Captain Cool (1pt win – )

Captain Cool is unbeaten over fences and the Jennie Candlish-trained raider will look to make it three in a row over the larger obstacles in the Perth Silver Cup Handicap Chase at 3.52pm. Last seen over fences off a mark of 114, he takes his chance off 121 here, so does face his toughest test to date. However, he ran creditably over hurdles last time out and that should have him right for this. Not out the first two in his last five starts, he’s one that has to be considered a huge contender. If others fail to run to their mark then Captain Cool can bag victory.

4.27 Perth – Walk On Quest (1pt win – )

Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore’s Walk On Quest landed a real confidence-boosting victory in a three-runner Carlisle contest last time out. Now, the seven-year-old is looking to land victory in the Perth Gold Cup Handicap Chase at 4.27pm. This is a tougher contest, but he’s only been given a 3lbs rise by the handicapper, so he could be more than capable of landing the money off a mark of 124. Plenty of proven handicappers line up here, but Walk On Quest is the one that could have more improvement off his current mark.
