17:30 – Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes (Horses In Bands B, C & D) (GBB)

Race Details: 6f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a fairly informative juvenile novice rather than a deep one, with the balance between proven form and nicely-bred debutantes likely to decide it. Frumoasa sets the standard after making a winning start and her opening mark of 72 gives the others something to aim at, but this is the time of year when well-fancied newcomers can easily bridge that gap. Lady Branksome, Bearly Blue and Heldobeldo all come from yards capable of readying a two-year-old, while Clive Cox’s Madentine is another who makes some appeal on paper. Of those with experience beyond the favourite, Magnesium and Romidijo have shown only modest form so far. It is a tricky little puzzle, but not an impossible one, and a good draw plus professionalism may count for plenty around Kempton’s sharp six furlongs.

Top Selections

1. Frumoasa – 7/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Mikkel Mortensen | Trainer: Charlie Fellowes | Form: 1 | Rating: 72 | Topspeed: 11

You do not need to overcomplicate these restricted novices when one of them has already done the job on the track, and Frumoasa is the one with the clearest piece of substance. She made a winning debut, has been handed a fair opening mark of 72, and the inside draw in stall 2 is another plus if she breaks on terms. Charlie Fellowes is not a trainer to waste bullets with juveniles, so the fact she won first time up immediately catches the eye. At 7/2 she is not exactly hiding from the market, but she still makes more appeal than several unexposed rivals asked to do it cold. She sets the bar and looks the likeliest to clear it again. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Bearly Blue – 11/2 with Betfair

Jockey: Finley Marsh | Trainer: Richard Hughes | Form: | Rating: | Topspeed:

Bearly Blue is the each-way angle in a race where the obvious one has form in the book but not much wriggle room in the price. Richard Hughes can ready a sharp juvenile, and his runners often know enough first time to put themselves in the race rather than needing the experience. The market has her on the right side of respect at 11/2, and that feels interesting in a field where several of the other newcomers are also learning on the job. Finley Marsh is a positive booking and, from stall 6, she should have options tactically. If Frumoasa proves too streetwise, Bearly Blue still looks the type who can run a solid race and hit the frame. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Frumoasa is the straight win play because she brings the best established form and a useful draw to a race full of guesswork. Bearly Blue makes more sense as the each-way punt at 11/2 in a 12-runner field with three places on offer. The obvious dangers are Lady Branksome and Heldobeldo, both from yards you have to respect with first-time juveniles.

18:00 – Unibet Support Safer Gambling Restricted Novice Stakes (Horses In Bands B, C & D) (GBB) (Div I)

Race Details: 7f | Class 5 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a fairly ordinary restricted novice on paper, but it does revolve around one horse with a notably stronger profile than the rest. Spirit Of Saxony brings the standout rating, the best topspeed figure and already has several solid pieces of form in the book, so he is the obvious one they all have to beat. That said, these races can get messy when unexposed types begin to improve, and No Nay Data arrives off a win while Drymee is entitled to come on plenty for his debut fourth after an absence. Deported is another with credible placed form and a good draw to work from. The newcomers add a little intrigue, but this still looks more about whether the favourite runs to his mark than a deep, high-class puzzle.

Top Selections

1. Spirit Of Saxony – 11/10 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Charles Bishop | Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton | Form: 3-255 | Rating: 95 | Topspeed: 75

He is hard to get away from. A mark of 95 absolutely towers over most of these in a Class 5 restricted novice, and that topspeed figure of 75 says much the same thing. The slight concern is that he has had a few chances, with the recent 255 sequence suggesting he has found one or two too good, but those efforts still set the standard here by some margin. Charles Bishop is a good positive rider for this sort of test and, if Spirit Of Saxony handles Kempton as well as he ought to on paper, he simply holds the strongest claims. Around 11/10 is hardly stealing money, but it is fair in this company.

Bet: WIN

2. Drymee – 6/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Daniel Muscutt | Trainer: James Fanshawe | Form: 4- | Rating: 82 | Topspeed:

For an each-way play, Drymee makes plenty of appeal. James Fanshawe is not a trainer to dismiss with lightly raced three-year-olds, and this one shaped with some promise when fourth on debut before being put away. An opening rating of 82 is perfectly workable in a race like this and suggests there was substance to that initial effort. The wide draw in 10 is not ideal over 7f here, but Daniel Muscutt is more than capable of getting one settled and delivered late. At 6/1 he looks the value alternative to the favourite, especially if natural improvement turns him from merely useful into properly competitive.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Spirit Of Saxony is the solid win play because his figures are simply better than the rest and this is not a race packed with depth. Drymee is the each-way option at a workable price, with improvement likely after just one run. No Nay Data and Deported are the main dangers if the favourite underperforms, while any support for the newcomers would be worth noting.

18:30 – Unibet Support Safer Gambling Restricted Novice Stakes (Horses In Bands B, C & D) (GBB) (Div II)

Race Details: 7f | Class 5 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a fairly ordinary restricted novice on paper, but it may not take much winning and that makes the better-bred, unexposed types especially interesting. House Of Medici and Hozam head the market before either has shown a card in public, while Crossbar also comes from a yard well capable of readying one first time. Against that, Hamda’s Joy brings the most solid form to the table after a string of placed efforts and sets a realistic standard for the newcomers to aim at. The Golden Snitch has at least had two goes and drops in weight, but the wide draw is no gift over this 7f. Tricky enough because of the debutants, but not a deep race, and a bit of latent class could settle it.

Top Selections

1. House Of Medici – 9/4 with Bet365

Jockey: Oisin Murphy | Trainer: Andrew Balding | Form: | Rating: | Topspeed:

In a race where the exposed form does not set an insurmountable bar, House Of Medici makes plenty of appeal. Andrew Balding is more than capable of readying one for a restricted novice like this and the booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye straight away. Drawn in stall 4, he should get a sensible run round, and at 9/4 he looks the one most likely to have the upside needed to beat these. Hamda’s Joy is solid, but she has already shown her hand to a degree, whereas this one could simply be better than this level. Hard to oppose if he knows his job first time. Bet: WIN

2. Hamda’s Joy

Jockey: David Egan | Trainer: Tom Clover | Form: 33-3 | Rating: 77 | Topspeed: 58

Hamda’s Joy is the obvious each-way angle because she has the most convincing body of work in the field and keeps knocking on the door. Those placed efforts read well enough in the context of this race, and a mark of 77 is a fair standard in a contest full of guesswork. The draw in 2 is another plus around Kempton, and David Egan should be able to hold a handy position without fuss. She may lack the sexy profile of the market-leading newcomers, but she is reliable and this is not a race packed with proven talent. For punters wanting something more solid, she makes plenty of each-way sense. Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

House Of Medici is the win play, purely on the basis that this looks a modest enough race for a Balding newcomer to make an immediate impact. Hamda’s Joy is the sensible each-way punt with three places on offer, as her form is the most dependable in the line-up. Hozam and Crossbar are the obvious dangers if the market vibes around the debutants prove accurate.

19:00 – Unibet 40,000+ Live Streamed Events Handicap (London Mile Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 1m | Class 6 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a proper 3yo handicap puzzle rather than a race full of reliable types, and that usually makes the draw, pace and a bit of latent improvement crucial around Kempton. Quick Turn arrives off a win and has the plum inside stall, while Suggy and Karakula Dancer bring solid enough placed form into the race and are obvious players in a weakish Class 6. Denby’s Dream has been knocking on the door, Feisty Minx shaped better than the bare result last time, and Blue Celestial is another who could easily outrun his price from a good draw. It is not a deep contest, but it is competitive, with several of these looking closely matched on marks in the low 70s. That makes value important, and I would rather side with one who is still going the right way than a fully exposed yardstick.

Top Selections

1. Quick Turn – 5/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Rossa Ryan | Trainer: Ian Williams | Form: 9-4641 | Rating: 72 | Topspeed: 50

Quick Turn appeals most because he comes here having actually got the job done, and that recent success matters in a race where plenty have had chances without quite putting their head in front. The inside draw is a big plus over this mile, and Rossa Ryan is the kind of rider you want when tactics and track position can decide things. He has only gone up to 72, so he is not harshly treated for that latest win, and there is every chance this mark is still workable. Available at 5/1, he looks the percentage call in a race full of ifs and buts. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Feisty Minx – 11/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Jack Callan | Trainer: Amanda Perrett | Form: 7-074 | Rating: 74 | Topspeed: 54

Feisty Minx is the each-way angle at the prices. Her profile is not flashy, but that latest fourth suggested she might be starting to come to hand, and stall 3 gives her a far better setup than some of the more obvious dangers posted wider out. She is on 74, which asks a question, but this is only a Class 6 and it would not take a huge chunk of improvement to see her bang there. Amanda Perrett’s runners can pop up when the market has cooled on them, and 11/1 feels fair for a filly who still has a bit more upside than some exposed rivals around her in the betting. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Quick Turn is the win play: recent winning form, stall 1 and a rider well suited to Kempton handicaps make him hard to oppose. Feisty Minx is the each-way punt at double-figure odds, with her draw giving her a real chance of making the frame. The main dangers look to be Suggy, who has the figures, and the reliable Karakula Dancer despite that awkward wide berth.

19:30 – Unibet More Extra Place Races Handicap (London Mile Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 1m | Class 5 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This is a proper Kempton mile handicap: deep, competitive and just awkward enough to stop you getting carried away with the obvious ones. Kaaranah arrives bidding for a hat-trick and is entitled to plenty of respect despite stall 13, while Lady Manzor has been knocking on the door in slightly stronger-looking races and sets a fair standard at the top of the weights. Billy Mill is becoming dangerously well treated if judged on his recent placed efforts, and Influential still has the profile of one who can do better for Roger Varian. There are a few lurkers too, with Freda and Man Of Desert both capable of stepping forward. In truth, this looks more like a race where track position and pace will matter than a straightforward class act asserting.

Top Selections

1. Lady Manzor – 10/3 with Bet365

Jockey: Kieran Shoemark | Trainer: Amanda Perrett | Form: 5-8644 | Rating: 89 | Topspeed: 73

Lady Manzor is hardly hiding from the assessor, but she has been running well enough to think this is her sort of opening. Those last two fourth-place finishes read perfectly respectably in the context of a race like this, and her mark of 89 gives her the best official figure in the field. She is not especially well treated if you want a sexy angle, but she is solid, battle-hardened and drawn well enough in six to get a sensible trip around here. Amanda Perrett’s mare looks the one most likely to give her running, and at 10/3 she is short enough in a 14-runner handicap but still the percentage call. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Billy Mill – 9/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Lewis Edmunds | Trainer: Rod Millman | Form: 886632 | Rating: 87 | Topspeed: 79

Billy Mill looks the each-way play because he brings the best topspeed figure in the line-up and arrives in the sort of form that usually gets rewarded in these London Mile qualifiers. His recent second and third suggest he is holding his level well, and dropping in here off 87 with just 128lb on his back makes him very interesting. The draw in 12 is not ideal, but he is experienced enough to cope and this sharp mile on Polytrack suits a horse who can travel and quicken. At 9/1, he makes much more appeal than some of the flashier profiles because you can easily see him hitting the frame again. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Lady Manzor is the win play because she looks the most dependable option in a race full of ifs and buts. Billy Mill is the each-way punt at 9/1, with his recent form and strong topspeed figure making him an obvious four-place candidate. The main danger is Kaaranah, who is thriving, while Influential is another who would not need much improvement to get seriously involved.

20:00 – Try Unibet’s New Smartview Racecards Handicap

Race Details: 7f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This is a proper Kempton handicap rather than a race to get carried away with: plenty in with a squeak, but not many arriving bombproof. I’m Workin On It has done little wrong and carries top weight after a recent win, while Rock Iguana shaped well on return and looks one of the more solid pieces of current form. Sea Suite is another with momentum and a light enough weight, though stall 11 asks a question, and Port Road comes here on the back of a win but has been handed no favours by stall 14. There are lurkers too, notably Al Karrar on his first start since the autumn. In short, it is a tricky puzzle, and the draw, pace and who gets the run of things round here may matter as much as raw ability.

Top Selections

1. Rock Iguana – 5/1 with Betfair

Jockey: David Egan | Trainer: Kevin Philippart De Foy | Form: 1206-2 | Rating: 96 | Topspeed: 78

Rock Iguana makes plenty of appeal in a race where a few of these can be picked at. He returned from a break with a runner-up effort, which suggested he was ready to go on again, and that piece of form reads well enough for this grade. A mark of 96 looks workable, stall 6 is absolutely fine for a 7f handicap here, and David Egan is the sort you want in these tactical all-weather races. He is not thrown in, but he does look reliable, well treated enough and likely to get a good stalking trip. At 5/1, he looks the percentage call in a field full of ifs and buts. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Al Karrar – 9/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Jack Mitchell | Trainer: Tom Clover | Form: 24/36- | Rating: 94 | Topspeed: 64

Al Karrar is the one I would want onside at a price because there is a fair chance he has been aimed at this sort of race. He has not been seen since last year, so fitness is the obvious concern, but Tom Clover’s runners are often worth noting in these Kempton handicaps and Jack Mitchell is a very tidy booking around here. His mark of 94 gives him room to be competitive if returning in the same nick, and stall 3 should allow him to hold a handy position without burning petrol. This is not the deepest Class 4 you will ever see, so 9/1 makes him a perfectly sensible each-way punt if he is fit enough to do himself justice. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Rock Iguana is the straight win play because he arrives with the most convincing recent run and looks set for the right trip from a workable draw. Al Karrar is the each-way alternative at 9/1 in a 14-runner race with four places on offer. Main dangers? Sea Suite has obvious claims off 127, while I’m Workin On It is hard to dismiss despite top weight.

20:30 – Try Unibet’s New Improved Acca Boosts Handicap (London Sprint Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 6f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This is a proper late-evening Kempton sprint handicap: tightly packed on the figures, plenty with something to recommend them, and very little room for error over a sharp 6f round here. Kirkdale would have been a major player but is out, which leaves the market headed by the likes of Change Sings, Havana Blast and Hunky Dory. Change Sings has been knocking on the door in better company and looks solid, while Havana Blast shaped as though he was coming to the boil on his return. Hunky Dory is dangerous if bouncing back, but stall 11 asks a question. Lower down, Charlie Mason and Amazonian Dream are weighted to be competitive in a race where track position and pace will matter. Tricky enough, but not impossible to solve.

Top Selections

1. Change Sings – 4/1 with Betfair

Jockey: Oliver Carmichael | Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton | Form: 70-365 | Rating: 95 | Topspeed: 81

He makes plenty of appeal in a race lacking an obvious standout. The recent form figures suggest he has been holding his level well, and that mark of 95 looks workable given he has been contesting warm handicaps without being disgraced. A topspeed of 81 is right in the mix for this grade, and stall 5 should allow him to get involved without needing miracles. He is not an especially sexy pick, but these Kempton sprints are often won by the dependable one rather than the flashy one. At 4/1, he looks a fair price rather than a cramped one, and he holds strong claims of finally cashing in. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Charlie Mason – 17/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Jason Watson | Trainer: Tony Carroll | Form: 245427 | Rating: 96 | Topspeed: 90

He is the one at a bigger price who makes most each-way sense. That topspeed figure of 90 jumps off the page in this field, and while his recent finishing positions do not scream certainty, they do show a horse consistently running to a level that keeps him competitive in this sort of race. Carrying just 123, he is well enough treated if Jason Watson can get him into a smooth rhythm from stall 10. Tony Carroll runners in these handicaps are often best caught when ignored a little in the market, and 17/2 offers enough reward for a horse who does not need to improve much to hit the frame. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Change Sings is the percentage call for the win bet, as he brings the most solid recent profile into a race where reliability counts for plenty. Charlie Mason is the each-way punt with four places on offer, especially off a handy racing weight and with that standout topspeed figure. The obvious dangers are Havana Blast, who shaped well last time, and Hunky Dory if overcoming a wide draw.

21:00 – Bet £20 Get £20 With Unibet Handicap

Race Details: 1m 3f | Class 6 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a fairly ordinary Class 6 on paper, but that does not make it straightforward. Divot sets the standard after a couple of solid placed efforts and the market has latched on to him, while Argentum and Maywedance sit just behind in a race where plenty have bits and pieces of form without looking especially reliable. Dotties Star won on his return before disappointing, Uzincso is well enough treated if bouncing back, and Sir Patchy has the sort of profile that keeps him in the argument despite a poor draw. With a non-runner already in the line-up, this has the look of a tactical enough late-evening handicap where track position and who settles best over this 1m3f could prove decisive. It is not a deep race, but it is a mildly tricky one.

Top Selections

1. Divot – 13/8 with Bet365

Jockey: Oisin Murphy | Trainer: William Knight | Form: 723-23 | Rating: 73 | Topspeed: 62

Divot is the obvious one, but obvious for good reason. He has returned this spring with back-to-back placed efforts, shaping like a horse who is ready to cash in at this level, and stall 1 is no bad place to be around Kempton if Murphy can hold a handy pitch. His mark of 73 is workable in a race lacking depth, and while he is not thrown in, he has been running to a notably higher standard than most of these. William Knight’s 4yo still looks capable of a little more over this sort of trip, and 13/8 is short enough in a 13-runner handicap, but he is still the one they all have to beat. Bet type tag: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Argentum – 17/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Saffie Osborne | Trainer: Matt Crawley | Form: 3-3045 | Rating: 71 | Topspeed: 59

Argentum makes more each-way appeal than some of the shorter ones because his recent form is not as bad as it first reads. He has been keeping on in his races without quite getting involved at the finish, and this drop into a modest Class 6 could easily help him travel into it more effectively. A 4yo against several exposed older handicappers is a plus in itself, and he is only 2lb lower than Divot on official figures while getting weight all round. The draw in 11 is not ideal, but at 17/2 with four places on offer, he looks the sensible each-way play if the favourite proves vulnerable late on. Bet type tag: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Keep it simple: Divot is the win bet because he brings the strongest recent form and looks well placed to boss this grade. For an each-way punt, Argentum appeals at the prices in a race full of inconsistent stayers. Dangers? Maywedance is respected if bouncing back, while Dotties Star could easily outrun his odds if forgiven that latest flop.
