Lingfield Racing Tips (Tuesday 19 May 2026)
Eight races take place on the grass at Lingfield Park, with a 2.10pm start. Andrew has a brace of tips in the 3.40pm and 4.10pm races.
3.40 Lingfield – No Gain (1pt win – 11/8 generally)
No Gain was just pipped at Doncaster when a bet for this column last Saturday, going down by a short head at odds of 7-1 in a 16-runner 7f handicap. Adam Kirby’s four-year-old wasn’t given the strongest ride by Taryn Langley that night and Charles Bishop takes over today. As mentioned before that race, No Gain’s stride length (cadence) strongly suggests that she needs a distance of 7f or further and that latest run was her first try beyond a sprint trip since joining her current yard. Her latest performance was backed up by the clock – she’s well clear of her rivals on Proform’s last time out speed figures – and her stall 9 draw looks useful on yesterday’s evidence.
4.10 Lingfield – Thanos (1pt win – 13/8 888sport, Sky Bet, Paddy Power)
Harry Charlton’s Thanos arrives at Lingfield on the back of three beaten-favourite efforts but the first two came on the all-weather and the latest one – in a 7f Doncaster handicap – saw him emerge best of those to come from off the pace when it paid to be handy. That run – his first for almost six months and first since gelded – will bring him on and it’s interesting to see him fitted with first-time cheekpieces this afternoon. The Charlton yard is 14 from 57 when using this headgear in turf handicaps (24.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £43.53 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£67.13 at Betfair SP after 2% commission) and he can get off the mark.
Cork Racing Tips (Tuesday 19 May 2026)
Another eight contests take place at Cork this evening. Andrew heads to the 5.12pm race and fancies a Johnny Murtagh-trained runner to land the prize.
5.12 Cork – Bay Of Supremacy (1pt win – 11/2 bet365, 888sport, 5/1 generally)
With 7mm of rain forecast to fall at Cork today, conditions could be soft enough for Bay Of Supremacy by the time he lines up in this 5f handicap. Johnny Murtagh’s three-year-old clocked a fast time when scoring at Bellewstown on his latest start, taking his record in 5f handicaps to 131 (2-3), with the defeat by just three-quarters of a length when doing best of those to race on the far side of the track at Naas on his reappearance. The action developed down the centre of the track that day and Chirac, second best of the far-side bunch in fourth place, ran out a well backed winner at Gowran Park next time.
