Lingfield Racing Tips (Monday 20 April 2026)
Seven races take place at Lingfield, but you don’t have to wait long for Andrew’s best bet, as he opts for a 1.5pt win selection in the first race of the day at 2.21pm.
2.21 Lingfield – No Knee Never (1.5pt win – 4/1 bet365)
Amateur jockey Henry Callan has won on 11 of his 35 rides for a profit of £20.29 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 5.24, A/E = 2.10), including 11 from 23 since August 1st last year. His four rides on Lingfield’s Polytrack surface have returned for figures of 1111 with the wins at 13-2, 15-8, 5-4 and 4-6 and I’m backing him to make it five from five on No Knee Never today. The James Owen-trained top weight was a big eyecatcher at Yarmouth last time, finishing third in a headwind affected straight-mile handicap and doing clear best of those to race up with the pace. The five-year-old clocked a useful time when third over course and distance on his latest outing and I’m expecting his jockey to break smartly from stall 11 and sit in just behind possible pacesetters Snooker McCrew and Tam Lin before pouncing in the final furlong.
Newcastle Racing Tips (Monday 20 April 2026)
There are another seven races at Newcastle on the all-weather. Andrew’s best bet lines up in the 7.30pm contest.
7.30 Newcastle – O Fortuna (1pt win – 4/1 bet365)
O Fortuna shaped well on his juvenile debut at Redcar last May, finishing a 28-1 seventh of 13 and emerging third best of the group to race on the near side from their unfavoured high draws (he had the worst of it in stall 13). Fifth-placed Black Endeavour, best of the near side bunch, won a Nottingham nursery off 65 in the summer, while 5-2 favourite Dubai Time, second best of the disadvantaged group, later landed nurseries off 63 and 65. Eighth-placed Magistery, fourth best of his group and one place behind O Fortuna, won a nursery off 69, while the poorly drawn 11th has won twice (57 and 58). Tim Easterby’s three-year-old didn’t run in nurseries last term but made his handicap debut on the back of a gelding operation earlier this month, doing well to finish a 17-2 fourth at Catterick from a poor wide draw and when asked to come from further off the pace than ideal. Since 2012, his yard is 16 from 104 with runners in the spring (March to May) on their second run after being gelded for a profit of £46.59 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£76.57 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). Only five of those runs came on the all-weather and they returned form figures of 21211 (3-5). he’s been dropped 1lb to a mark of 61 and that could be on the generous side.
