Market Rasen Racing Tips (Tuesday 14 April 2026)
A bumper eight-race card takes place at Market Rasen over the sticks. Andrew’s selections line up in the 1.35pm and 2.10pm contests.
1.35 Market Rasen – Giovanni Change (1pt win – 2/1 generally)
Giovanni Change tends to perform best in the spring (March to May) when racing below Class 2 level, recording form figures of 1134113321141 (7-13) for a profit of £36.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those figures include three wins from six over hurdles, three from five over fences, and one from two on the Flat. Five of the wins (from eight runs) came here at Market Rasen, including victory in this amateur riders’ handicap chase 12 months ago. The 11-year-old bounced back from a pulled-up effort in mid-January to score at Wetherby late last month and will enjoy the drying ground.
2.10 Market Rasen – Briery Rose (0.5pt win – 14/1 bet365, 888sport but bigger on the exchanges at the time of writing)
Briery Rose ran with promise on her racecourse debut in December 2024, finishing just over six lengths back in a 22-1 fifth of 13 behind A Path To Ronda (now rated 126 after a Grade 2 placing earlier this year) and Diamonds Galore (odds-on for this maiden hurdle). Henry Daly’s six-year-old wasn’t seen again until early last month when again shaping well at Hereford, finishing mid-division in a big-field mares’ bumper. The time was fast (she has the second-best last time out speed figure in today’s line-up according to Proform) and three of the runners who finished in front of her ran in the Grade 2 mares’ bumper at Aintree last week. The daughter of Sir Percy is likely to improve for the switch to hurdles and with Diamonds Galore proving disappointing – pulling up last time to take her career record to 0-8 – she looks worth chancing to very small stakes.
