Andrew Mount attempts to end a profitable week on a positive note and he has two tips for the racing on Sunday 7th June. He heads to Navan and Perth today for his best bets of the day, so check out his selections here…
Navan Racing Tips (Sunday 7 June 2026)
An eight-race card takes place at Navan at 1.07pm, but you have to wait until the 2.17pm for Andrew’s best bet on the card.
2.17 Navan – Harry’s Hill (0.5pt e/w – 16/1 generally, bet365 paying six places)
Harry’s Hill did this column a favour at the Curragh back in July 2023, scoring at odds of 14-1 in a 16-runner handicap having been backed from 25-1 and bigger. The reason for the bet that day was the rail draw (stall 16 of 16 once adjusted for the non-runner) and he has one again today, this time in stall 1of 23. His two wins since that Curragh success have come from stalls 1 of 13 and 5 of 5 and he’s worth a small each-way interest in the hope that he’s drawn on the right side of the track. He’s not been ideally berthed in his two previous runs this season – a sixth of ten here and a seventh of 12 at Dundalk – and the early market has over-reacted to those efforts.
Perth Racing Tips (Sunday 7 June 2026)
A quality jumps card takes place at Perth. Andrew’s best bet at the Scottish track lines up in the Silver Cup Handicap Chase at 3.52pm.
3.52 Perth – Captain Cool (1pt win – 9/4 bet365, 2/1 generally)
Captain Cool made a winning chase debut at Stratford last month and followed up in emphatic fashion at Plumpton 11 days later despite jumping out to his right on occasions at that left-handed venue. The Jennie Candlish-trained six-year-old was denied a hat-trick when only second at Southwell five days ago but that was over hurdles and he clearly didn’t appreciate the switch. The Jet Away gelding returns to fences at Perth this afternoon and looks set to run a big race if the ground doesn’t ease significantly. Since racing resumed after COVID in the summer of 2020, Candlish-trained handicappers are 23 from 75 (31.7%) when returned to the track within a week of their latest start (+£8.33 to a £1 level stake at SP, +£18.82 at Betfair SP after 2% commission).
