Newcastle Racing Tips (Tuesday 31 March 2026)
Seven National Hunt races take place at Newcastle on Tuesday, with the action kicking off at 2.30pm. You have to wait until the 4.00pm contest for Andrew’s best bet on the card.
4.00 Newcastle – Fingal’s Hill (1pt win – 7-4 bet365)
Fingal’s Hill tends to perform best in the warmer months and if we discard his runs from December to February his record becomes 11111174833012112 (9-17) for a profit of £54.25 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected wins = 2.58, A/E = 3.49). Peter Atkinson’s ten-year-old clearly enjoys stiff left-handed tracks and his combined record here and at Hexham during his preferred time of year reads 111112 (5-6) for a profit of £16.75, with the runner-up effort over 2m1f here on March 14th when left with too much to do behind an all-the-way winner. He returns to his optimum 2m4f trip today and he made all in this race last year, scoring by five lengths.
Bangor Racing Tips (Tuesday 31 March 2026)
There are only six races at Bangor over the sticks on Tuesday, with Andrew’s standout selection lining up in the 4.20pm race.
4.20 Bangor – Felton Bellevue (0.5pt e/w – 9/2 bet365)
Backing Felton Bellevue blindly in his 37 handicap-chase starts would have returned a tiny profit of £0.57 at Betfair SP (after 2% commission) but we can improve things considerably by only siding with him in the February to March period, during which he has form figures of 124231134132 (4-12) for a profit of £13.00 at SP (+£18.29 at BSP).
Ben Case’s veteran returned to winning ways in a 3m1.5f handicap chase at Plumpton on February 9th, coming home almost three lengths clear at odds of 6-1, and bounced back from a modest Huntingdon third to go down by just a neck to Scottish King (winner again since) when returned to Plumpton on March 9th, trading at 1.38 in-running from a Betfair SP of 7.38.
Sharp left-handed tracks clearly suit (he has a good record at Lingfield as well as Plumpton) and though yet to race at Bangor the configuration of the track should suit.
Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Tuesday 31 March 2026)
Seven races begin at 5.30pm at Wolverhampton, with an 8.30pm finish. Andrew heads to the 6.30pm race for his best bet on the evening all-weather card.
6.30 Wolverhampton – Farasi Lane (1pt win – 6/4 bet365)
Farasi Lane has won just one of his 20 all-weather starts between May and February but his record on synthetics in March/April stands at 1621261 (3-7) for a profit of £17.10 to a £1 level stake at SP.
The Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole-trained eight-year-old caught the eye when a best-of-the-closers second over the 8.6f trip here three runs back and returned to winning ways over the same course and distance seven days ago, his first spring start of the year. The cut back to 7f won’t inconvenience and he’s likely to prove hard to beat under a penalty.
