This is a low-grade 3yo handicap but it is not devoid of angles, with several arriving here from similar races and very little between a handful on official figures. Dalamara sets the standard after getting off the mark last time and, from stall 3, looks sure to be popular again for Ben Haslam. Baldosa has been busy and generally consistent, while Diamond Aura has the inside draw and a mark that gives her a squeak if things fall right. New Objective has a bit to prove after a quiet reappearance, but his earlier second reads well enough in this company. It is not a deep race, though, and that can make these Class 6 events awkward: tactical position, settling over this trip and who handles Newcastle best may decide it more than raw ability.
