It’s day one of Newmarket‘s Craven Meeting takes place on Tuesday 14 April, whilst there’s some competitive National Hunt racing at Market Rasen. Our GG Lucky 15 for Tuesday focuses on both fixtures, where we pick out our best bets across the two cards.
Newmarket Racing Tips (Tuesday 14 April 2026)
Seven races make up day one of the Craven meeting at Newmarket, with a 1.15pm start. Check out our best bets on the action at Flat HQ.
3.00 Newmarket – Startled (1pt win – )
An impressive two-and-half length winner at the end of last season in the mud at Nottingham, the Richard Hughes-trained Startled will look to emulate that run in the 3.00pm at Newmarket on Tuesday. The Bated Breath gelding shaped with promise on his comeback run when third at Lingfield back in February. Now stepping up to seven furlongs for the first time, he looks one that can continue on an upward curve. Upped 3lbs for that recent run, he needs a career best. However, a mark of 76 looks within his capabilities.
3.35 Newmarket – Regal Envoy (1pt win – 7/2)
William Knight’s Regal Envoy won this race 12 months and he’s only 2lbs higher in the handicap for the 2026 renewal. He failed to follow that up in some competitive races last season, but returning her for his seasonal reappearance should see him perform with credit once again. He seems to get on really well with Oisin Murphy, who piloted him to victory three times in 2025 and the pair team up again on Tuesday.
4.45 Newmarket – Real Gain (1pt win – 11/2)
Third in the Golden Mile at Glorious Goodwood, Real Gain has to be a huge contender in the final race of the day at Newmarket, if replicating that effort. Down the field at Kempton Park on his last start he’s since switched from the yard of Richard Hughes to Hamad Al Jehani. He’s now 3lbs lower than the mark he ran off at Goodwood. So, if he can return to somewhere near his best then he should be able to deliver the goods in a competitive finale.
Market Rasen Racing Tips (Tuesday 14 April 2026)
There’s a bumper eight-race jumping card at Market Rasen on Tuesday, where we have one selection to complete our Lucky 15 for Tuesday.
5.05 Market Rasen – Jasmine Bliss (1pt win – 7/2)
Second in the Grade 2 Pendil Novices’ Chase at Kempton Park on her last start, Jasmine Bliss will venture into calmer waters at Market Rasen on Tuesday. Harry Derham’s charge is a leading contender for the 5.05pm race. Giving weight away to some smart rivals, she will need to be at her best to land this prize. However, that second to Jax Junior is very good form, and certainly the best on offer here. Having been off the track for a couple of months, she will come here fresh and is the one to beat.
