Andrew Mount fired in an impressive 18/1 winner yesterday and he looks to continue his fine start to the month with two selections on Wednesday 3 June. He heads to Nottingham and the Curragh for his best bets today, so check out his selections here…
Nottingham Racing Tips (Wednesday 3 June 2026)
Six races begin at Nottingham at 2.48pm, but you have to wait until the 4.48pm contest for Andrew’s best bet on the card.
4.48 Nottingham – Gatehouse (1pt win – 7-2 bet365, 100-30 generally)
I had intended to back handicap debutant Mr Bollinger in this 1m2f contest but Michael Bell’s three-year-old is a non-runner and I’m switching to Gatehouse, another one of my tracker horses. The Sean Woods-trained gelding was unlucky to bump into Knight Of Glory when heavily punted at Lingfield on his debut last December and won the next twice, taking a 1m2f novice at Chelmsford before scoring narrowly in a 1m handicap on Southwell’s Tapeta. He could only finish fourth of five on his turf debut at Newmarket early last month (1m2f) but hung badly left on the fast ground and he did start as the 16-1 outsider. That form has received a couple of boosts with four-length runner-up Sahara King going close in the London Gold Cup at Newbury and fifth-placed Crockham Heath, beaten by 12 lengths and almost four lengths behind Gatehouse, finishing second at Chester. The recent rain will help, and he remains open to further improvement.
Curragh Racing Tips (Wednesday 3 June 2026)
Eight races on the Flat take place at the Curragh this evening, with a 4.40pm start. Andrew’s sole selection at the Irish track is an eye-catching each-way play in the final race at 8.25pm.
8.25 Curragh – Hot To Foxtrot (0.5pt e/w – 16/1 generally, bet365, Sky Bet and Paddy Power paying six places)
Hot To Foxtrot looks very interesting now returning to turf for the first time since her eyecatching six-length 11th of 16 in a 5f apprentice handicap here last October where she did well to finish so close from a terrible draw. There was a very strong draw/pace bias that day, favouring high-drawn prominent racers and she could never get involved against the far side rail after missing the break from stall 1. James Feane’s six-year-old has run with credit on the all-weather at Dundalk in two of her three subsequent starts and is now 9lb lower back on turf, could improve for the first-time cheekpieces and is potentially well drawn in stall 17.
