Nottingham Racing Tips (Wednesday 3rd June 2026)
It’s a 2.48pm start for Nottingham’s six-race card, which concludes at 5.48pm. Check out Steve’s best two bets for the meeting.
3.48 Nottingham – Safe Harbor (1pt win – 5/2)
Marco Botti’s Safe Harbor may remain a maiden after five starts, but the daughter of Territories has been knocking on the door of late and can finally get her head in front in the 3.48pm contest. She put up a career best when second at Newmarket last time out and with only a 1lb rise she’s sure to be in the mix once again. Sitting on a mark of 67, she is sure to continue her improvement as the season progresses, and if she can continue to run with similar consistency then can land the prize.
4.18 Nottingham – A Major Payne (1pt win – 3/1)
Another heading to Nottingham’s fixture on Wednesday looking to break his duck is A Major Payne, who is bidding for victory at the 18th attempt in the 4.18pm contest. The Harry Angel gelding may not have got his head in front on the racecourse yet, but with seven seconds he has shown he can run to a decent level. Second at Newmarket off a mark of 75 last time out, he will run off that same mark on Wednesday. One huge positive is that Oisin Murphy comes in for the ride and the champion jockey could be the key component to get the five-year-old to land a first success.
Ripon Racing Tips (Wednesday 3rd June 2026)
There’s a six-race evening card at Ripon, with a 6.00pm start. Steve has another brace of selections for the action at the Yorkshire venue.
7.42 Ripon – Magic Boy (1pt win – 8/1)
Nigel Tinkler’s Magic Boy relished the drop in grade on his last start seven months when claiming a first win at Redcar. Only given a 2lbs rise for that win, he will return to the track off a new mark of 72, but still remains in a class 5 contest. This is his seasonal reappearance, so more improvement could come. However, the stable have been in decent form of late and Magic Boy could well kick on from that November success and land this competitive race at 7.42pm.
8.12 Ripon – Wen Moon (1pt win – 5/4)
Eight runners go to post for the 5f handicap at 8.12pm. The top-weighted Wen Moon can come out on top for Ben Haslam, if building on a promising run at Carlisle last time. He finished third in that race last month, and runs off the same mark of 70 here. He’s a previous course and distance winner at Ripon, so has shown he knows what it takes to deliver here. With a couple of races under his belt this season he’s one that can continue to improve. Some notable rivals take him on in this contest, but Wen Moon looks to have everything going for him to land a fifth career win.
