Pontefract Racing Tips (Tuesday 7 July 2026)
Seven races make up Pontefract’s flat card on Tuesday, with a 1.48pm start. Andrew’s best bet lines up in the 3.15pm contest.
3.18 Pontefract – Dark Cloud Rising (1.5pt win – 9/4 William Hill but almost 3/1 on the exchanges and likely to drift)
I’ve been banging on for some time about Dark Cloud Rising’s need for a small field and he took his record in fields of 11 or fewer runners to 137131151 (5-9) when recording a 13-2 success over Dark Thirty (Chester winner since) in a seven-runner affair at Ripon last month. In larger line-ups his figures are far less impressive – 84092805090U (0-12). David O’Meara’s four-year-old faces just five rivals today and has the plum draw in stall 1. He’s forecast at 11-8 in the Racing Post tissue but is out to 3.9 (almost 3-1) on Betfair.
Uttoxeter Racing Tips (Tuesday 7 July 2026)
A seven-race National Hunt card comes from Uttoxeter this afternoon, with Andrew selecting an eye-catching each-way play in the 4pm race.
4.00 Uttoxeter – Getaway Jewel (0.5pt e/w – 11/1 generally three places, though Sky Bet’s 10/1 four places is a more attractive option)
Getaway Jewel has a useful record over fences in the June-July period, recording form figures of 411164133 (4-9) for a profit of £9.28 to a £1 level stake at SP. Micky Hammond’s veteran was beaten by 30 lengths when third at Market Rasen last time but clearly didn’t see out the 2m3f trip and he returns to his optimum distance of 2m today. His two course and distance outings have resulted on close-up thirds at odds of 10-1 and 17-2 and he makes each-way appeal, especially if you can get the four places with Sky Bet.
