Redcar Racing Tips (Monday 18 May 2026)

Seven races begin at Redcar at 1.40pm, but you have to wait until 3.40pm for Andrew’s best bet on the card.

3.40 Redcar – Glory Hyde (1pt win – 7/2 generally)

The Roger Fell-trained Glory Hyde bounced back to winning ways at Wetherby last month and, while happy to lay her at Beverley last time given her trainer’s poor record with last time out winners, I was very lucky to get paid as she was badly hampered and may well have won with a clear passage. Jo Mason, on board at Wetherby but missing at Beverley, is back in the saddle and she’s well drawn in stall 9 of 12 (the stalls are stands’ side in the 6f races today and those drawn low are likely to struggle). She shares favouritism with One Of Our Own (stall 6) but that rival looked flattered when scoring over track and trip last time as he bagged the favoured rail.

Windsor Racing Tips (Monday 18 May 2026)

Windsor’s traditional Monday evening fixture takes place and there’s a hugely competitive sprint handicap at 5.40pm. Our top tipster Andrew has a brace of selections for the race.

5.40 Windsor – Adrestia (0.5pt e/w – 15/2 Sky Bet, four places, 8-1 888sport, three places, 15/2 generally with the other firms paying first three) & Regal Envoy (0.5pt win – 9/2 generally)

Redorange (stall 1 of 10) is trading at around 5-4 for this 5f handicap after catching the eye at York last week where he finished a hampered 10-1 eighth of 21 under Ryan Moore. However, Clive Cox’s four-year-old has found winning difficult since we joined in the successful gamble at Chester last May and looks set to get taken on for the lead by All Ways Glamorous (stall 2), who is drawn next door and fitted with the first-time cheekpieces. Rhythm N Hooves (stall 3) is another who can put pace to the race, as can Democracy Dilemma (stall 4). I’m expecting a pace collapse and the one to take advantage could be the reappearing Adrestia (stall 7), who finished a one-length 12-1 third to Regal Envoy over course and distance on her comeback last term. She followed last season’s reappearance with a Royal Ascot victory in the Palace Of Holyrood House Stakes and has yet to run a bad race in handicap company on turf, recording form figures of 1312 (2-4), with the runner-up effort by a nose. The concern is that could just be a prep with Royal Ascot likely to be on the agenda again but there’s compensation in the price.

I want to save on the aforementioned Regal Envoy (stall 8) despite him being another potential pace angle (he made all at Bath last time). William Knight’s seven-year-old now has a 12 from 35 record when returned to the track within 28 days of his previous outing (+£35.50 to a £1 level stake at SP), including form figures in the April to June period of 2110427117121151 (8-16). He doesn’t have to lead, and in-form Saffie Oborne is sensible enough not to get into an early pace war.

Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Monday 18 May 2026)

There’s only six races on the all-weather at Wolverhampton this evening, with Andrew opting for a double-figured priced runner in the 8.30pm race.

8.30 Wolverhampton – Sprinting Speed (1pt win – 11/1 bet365, 10/1 generally)

The runners mostly avoided the near side rail in the 7f Class 4 Leicester handicap won by Lion Of Mali (stall 4 of 12) on April 25th, with the winner ending up close to the favoured far side rail. The next two home were drawn in stalls 3 and 2, with Sprinting Speed (stall 10) catching the eye in a 28-1 fifth after challenging towards the near side. The Jennie Candlish-trained colt didn’t look entirely straightforward that day, hanging to the right in the latter stages, but that was a big improvement on his stable debut when beating only a couple home at Southwell and it suggests that there are races in him. We might not see the best of him until he’s gelded but his Leicester run was useful according to the clock (he has the second-best last time out speed figure according to Proform) and he’s worth a punt.
