The UK continues to be a hive of horse racing activity on Friday, with seven meetings taking place. The highlight is the beginning of Sandown‘s Eclipse meeting, which features a trio of Listed contests.

Sandown Racing Tips (Friday 3 July 2026)
Sandown’s Coral-Eclipse meeting begins on Friday with a seven-race card. Andrew’s tip at the track runs in the opening race.
1.50 Sandown – Westport (1pt win – 7/4 generally)
I want to oppose Comical Point in this 5f handicap as he looked flattered when a half-length runner-up at Windsor on June 1st. The Inside rail rode ‘dead’ that day and his stall 10 of 10 draw was advantageous (first three drawn 9, 10 and 7 once adjusted for the non-runner). Third-placed Amorim has already disappointed since, finishing a nine-length last of three at Newmarket and Comical Point is now 0-7 since landing a Salisbury maiden on his racecourse debut. I prefer the claims of George Boughey’s Westport, unbeaten in three starts before finihsing down the field when poorly drawn in the Palace Of Holyrood House Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Beverley Racing Tips (Friday 3 July 2026)
Andrew also has two tips at Beverley for Friday evening, across the six-race card at the Yorkshire venue.
7.02 Beverley – Elegant Erin (1pt win – 7/1 Sky Bet/Paddy Power)
Elegant Erin has a fine record on tracks with stiff uphill finishes and her combined record at Beverley, Carlisle and Pontefract stands at seven wins from 19 starts for a profit of £24.74 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected wins = 3.50, A/E = 2.00). In Class 4 or lower company only, the score is 231115162131 (6-12) for a profit of £26.25 including Beverley form figures of 11611 (4-5) with the sole defeat from a wide draw in stall 9 of 11 (winner drawn in stall 1). She hasn’t run at her favourite venue since landing an almighty gamble in a Class 2 conditions race last September (tipped in this column) and she signalled that her turn was near when third at Nottingham last time.
8.10 Beverley – Amber Hamur (1pt win – 11/4 Sky Bet/Paddy Power)
Amber Hamur has yet to race on turf and disappointed in both handicap starts for George Boughey, finishing fourth of seven (7-2) over 7f at Kempton before her 100-30 sixth of ten over the same trip at Wolverhampton. However, she’s joined in-form Ed Bethell who has a great record on turf at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other handlers, scoring with 12 of the 30 qualifiers for a profit of £20.70 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£22.89 at Betfair SP after 2% commission, expected wins = 5.99, A/E = 2.00). The step up to 1m, switch to turf and change of scenery could all bring about improvement and she’s worth chancing.
