A whopping eight horse racing fixtures take place on Friday 12 June. Competitive action comes from across the UK & Ireland on Friday, but our in-house tipster Steve Chambers focuses on the two flat meetings at Sandown and York for his best bets of the day.
Check out his four selections that make up GG’s Lucky 15 for the day’s racing.
Sandown Racing Tips (Friday 12 June 2026)
Eight races take place at Sandown on Friday afternoon, with a 1.08pm start. The action goes all the way through until 5.08pm. Check out our best bets on the card.
3.23 Sandown – Dangerman (1pt win – 4/1)
Both John & Thady Gosden and William Buick will be looking to find top gear ahead of Royal Ascot next week and the pair team up with Dangerman in the 3.23pm at Sandown. A hugely competitive 1m 1f 209y handicap, the Gosden-trained runner will be bidding for a third win in four races at Sandown. A winner off marks of 76 and 80 last season at the Esher track, the son of Cracksman will line up off 87 on Friday. He was last seen finishing fourth at Epsom, but has been dropped 1lb by the handicapper. A return to Sandown is the huge positive, and he can bounce back to winning ways here.
3.58 Sandown – Bemersyde (1pt win – 6/1)
Jane Chapple-Hyam’s Bemersyde always faced a tough task on handicap debut, when drawn in stall 11 at Chester last month. Able to finish fourth that day, the son of Ghaiyyath could be one to continue to improvement as the season progresses. He remains on the same mark of 80 for this contest, so if he can slightly build on that Roodee run then he could well play a starring role. He will have the burden of top weight and is yet to get his head in front, but is one that could be capable of defying that to land the money.
York Racing Tips (Friday 12 June 2026)
It’s a 1.50pm start at York, with seven races taking place on the Knavesmire. Steve has a brace of York tips for another intriguing card.
3.00 York – Dandana (1pt win – 9/2)
Back-to-back wins on her first two career starts, Dandana then ran a cracker to finish fourth in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York. She ended the season with a disappointing run in a Grade 3 contest at Ayr, but the daughter of Blue Point now returns in a handicap contest at 3.00pm on Friday. This is a significant drop down in trop for the Simon & Ed Crisford-trained raider, but a mark of 85 certainly looks attractive, if back to her best. Sure to come on for the run, she will have a lively rival in Bintaryana here, but she could well be capable of much better this campaign, and she can steamroller her opponents.
4.10 York – Altareq (1pt win – 7/1)
A bumper field of 16 line up for the 4.10pm race, but it’s the bottom weight Altareq that catches the eye. Jim Goldie’s charge will need to put up a career best to land the 1m 2f 56y contest against some seasoned middle-distance handicappers, but he’s one that is capable. Not out the first three in his last four outings, the Frankel gelding is lightly-raced with only five starts, so surely has more to come. Third at Hamilton last week, he showed previously when third of 15 at York in May that he can act at the track and a mark of 83 could be more than achievable.
