Wincanton Racing Tips (Wednesday 1 April 2026)
Seven races take place at Wincanton, with a 2.20pm start. There are four hurdle races, two chases and a bumper across the afternoon. See our best bets here.
2.50 Wincanton – Jukebox King (1pt win – 2/1)
Fourth in all three starts under Rules, Jukebox King will attempt to break his maiden tag on Wednesday. The Kim Bailey & Mat Nicholls-trained raider will be a leading contender for the 2.50pm at Wincanton, and if he can build on his last run at Warwick then has to be considered. Dropped 1lb for that last outing, he’s a winning pointer, so could be one that improves for the switch to fences. However, he’s certainly shown some quality over timber and he looks capable of landing victory in what looks a pretty mediocre contest.
4.20 Wincanton – Hatos (1pt win – 5/1)
Joe Tickle’s Kingcormac bids for a hat-trick of wins on Wednesday when lining up in the 4.20pm at Wincanton. However, another 3lbs rise should see him struggle. Universal Secret got the better of Hatos the last time they met, but Joe Tizzard’s Hatos is much better off at the weights for this event and he could well reverse the form here. Second on his last two starts, he’s been knocking on the door of late, but now only giving 2lbs away to that rival (gave 6lbs last time out) he can turn the tables and finally get his head in front.
Sedgefield Racing Tips (Wednesday 1 April 2026)
It’s a late start for Sedgefield’s afternoon meeting, with the first of six races taking place at 2.40pm. We pick out two selections from the northern racecourse.
3.10 Sedgefield – Realisation (1pt win – 5/4)
An impressive five-length winner at Sedgefield a few weeks ago, Realisation will look to defy a 6lbs rise in the 3.10pm contest. He certainly looks capable of doing just that in a pretty mediocre event. Lining up over the same distance here, Charlie Longsdon’s charge runs off 111, which is a mark he’s been near before, so he’s certainly shown a decent level of form. If he can replicate that mid-March run then the consistent performer should be good enough to dominate once again.
3.40 Sedgefield – Dixie Cowboy (1pt win – 6/4)
Placed in four of his six chase starts, Dixie Cowboy has been running well over fences and he can build on a second placed finish last time out by landing victory in the 3.40pm. He’s only had one win over fences, but that did come at Sedgefield, so a return to the track should be a huge bonus. He will have the burden of top weight in this event, but he shaped like he could be more than capable of landing a contest of this stature, if replicating his last run. There’s plenty to like about him and he looks very solid against a mediocre field.
