Windsor, Bath & Warwick Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Monday 4 May

There’s a real feast of horse racing on Bank Holiday Monday, with a host of fixtures taking place around the country. Andrew Mount heads to Windsor, Bath and Warwick for his best bets on Monday 4 May.

Grosvenor have a fabulous welcome offer for horse racing punters as they are offering Double The Odds to a maximum £10 stake.

Windsor Racing Tips (Monday 4 May 2026)

A bumper eight-race card takes place at Windsor, with a 1.53pm start. Andrew has a brace of selections for the action at the Berkshire track.

1.53 Windsor – Forever Glamorous (0.5pt e/w – 14/1 generally with the firms paying four places)

Chris Mason has his string in good form, and we enjoyed a place return from his All Ways Glamorous (13-2 from 14-1) who ran third of 17 at Ascot last week. Today he saddles another son of Go Glamorous in the shape of Forever Glamorous, who makes his yard debut after six winless runs for John O’Shea. The three-year-old gelding went close on his handicap debut at Ffos Las in September, is 1lb lower here and could improve for the change of stable. Mason’s record in handicaps with colts/geldings stands at 34 winners from 218 runners (15.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £63.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£114.56 at Betfair SP after 2% commission) and the pair that were making their yard debut and started below 25-1 in the betting both ran well – Liangel Hope winning at 10-1 and Just Glamorous running third at 12-1 before winning second time out at 9-2.

4.43 Windsor – Truly Glamorous (0.5pt e/w – 14/1 Sky Bet, four places, 14/1 bet365 and Hills but both only paying first three)

Like All Ways Glamorous in the 1.53 at Windsor, Truly Glamorous is another runner making his debut for in-form Chris Mason after leaving the care of John O’Shea. The son of Ardad has been off the track for 233 days but his sire’s progeny have a good record when fresh and the three-year-old, who runs off the same mark as when second at Chepstow on his handicap debut last summer, could improve for a gelding operation.

Bath Racing Tips (Monday 4 May 2026)

Bath provide some alternative Flat racing on Monday, with Andrew’s best bet lining up in the 3.25pm contest.

3.25 Bath – Over Spiced (1pt win – 4/1 generally)

Over Spiced went into my tracker after her runner-up effort at Chester last July where she did too much too soon in a race set up for the closers (the winner and third both came from well in rear). The Grace Harris-trained four-year-old went one better at Leicester in September (10-1) and built on last month’s respectable comeback fifth at Nottingham when an 11-1 second to the progressive Dapper Valley at Salisbury yesterday. Her record in the month of May now reads 15112 (3-5), with the fifth place at 16-1 when beaten by less than two lengths at Windsor on her second start for Harris, a run that was probably still needed. The small field will suit and she drops down from Class 4 to Class 5 level.

Warwick Racing Tips (Monday 4 May 2026)

There’s National Hunt racing at Warwick and Andrew is backing Harry Derham to follow up his recent Grade 1 win at the Punchestown Festival with a win in the 5.35pm race.

5.35 Warwick – Luna Run (1.5pt win – 5/2 generally)

In-form Harry Derham has a good record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other trainers, especially in handicap company. He’s won with 16 of the 42 qualifiers (38.1%) for a profit of £32.60 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 9.54, A/E = 1.68). He’s two from four with mares and bids to make it three from five with the ex-Evan Williams Luna Run, who has undergone wind surgery since her modest third at Plumpton last October. She reportedly made a respiratory noise when fifth at Newton Abbot in July but had three more runs for her old yard, finishing third, fifth and third and there should be plenty of improvement to come now that her wind issues have been addressed.
