Eight races make up Windsor’s Monday afternoon card, with Andrew selecting horses in the 1.42pm and 4.42pm races.
1.42 Windsor – Newfangled (1pt win – 7/1 bet365, 13/2 general)
Newfangled hasn’t got the greatest record in high summer (June to August), scoring just once from 14 starts, but is six from 20 outside of that period for a profit of £2.98 at SP. A very recent outing also seems important to the Jonny Portman-trained five-year-old whose seven career wins have cone after breaks of 22, 19, 14, 13, 13, 8 and 8 days since his previous run. When running in the spring (March to May) or Autumn (September to November) when returned to the track within 14 days of his latest run his record becomes 1111 (4-4) for a profit of £14.00 to a £1 level stale at SP and he arrives here on the back a of a solid 16-1 fourth at Wolverhampton just seven days ago.
4.42 Windsor – Crazy Plan (1pt win – 3/1 bet365, 11/4 general)
It’s not easy to win from the front over middle distances on the all-weather and Dan Horsford’s Crazy Plan sat closer to the early pace than ideal and took up the running soon enough when runner-up over 1m4f at Wolverhampton on her handicap debut in mid-July. Stall 1 made life difficult over 1m2f at Lingfield next time where she never escaped the inside rail ‘swamp’ in a close-up fourth and she found one too good when 5-2 for a 1m4f handicap at the same venue on her latest assignment, doing too much too soon on the front end before being brushed aside by George Scott’s Lady Of Clover, the subject of strong late support. Her prominent style will be better suited to today’s venue, and she looks worth a bet to break her duck on her turf handicap debut.
Kempton Racing Tips (Monday 14 September 2026)
There’s an additional eight races taking place at Kempton on Monday evening, with Andrew opting for a 1pt win pick in the 7.00pm race.
7.00 Kempton – Bling (1pt win – 7/2 general)
Bling shaped with promise when making her debut in a 6f fillies’ maiden at Newbury late last month, finishing a just over four lengths behind winner (Starbuster) in a 33-1 fifth of ten. Hugo Palmer’s juvenile was slowly away and, like other offspring of her dam Disclose, will come on for the run. Her nine half-siblings to make the track were all beaten on their debuts but two won at the second time of asking and I like the booking of Oisin Murphy, whose record for the yard stands at 65 winners from 261 rides (24.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £30.76 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£79.36 at Betfair SP after 2% commission, expected wins = 47.49, A/E = 1.37).
