Both Shadow Brigade (winner) and Brighton View (second) looked flattered by their runs at Doncaster last time out as the patient tactics were strongly favoured. I’m siding with the other runner in this 1m3.5f Class 5 handicap, namely Michael Bell’s Mr Bollinger. The three-year-old caught the eye in maiden/novice company and bounced back from his handicap debut flop at Nottingham, where he didn’t face the first-time cheekpieces, to record a 4-1 course and distance success when going without the headgear (tipped in this column). He made all under Billy Loughnane that day and he retains the ride.
Galway Racing Tips (Sunday 2 August 2026)
3.30 Galway Coming Up Easy (1pt e/w – 13/2 Sky Bet, Paddy Power)
Two things stands out where the Henry De Bromhead-trained Coming Up Easy is concerned – he seems best right-handed, winning three of his four starts in this direction and beating 81.255 of his rivals (as compared to one win from eight starts left-handed, beating just 36.51% of his opponents), and he prefers genuinely good or faster ground (based on race times, not the official going), recording form figures of 001110 (3-6) for a profit of £13.83 at SP. The eight-year-old has been freshened up since April’s 25-1 16th of 27th on unsuitably fast ground in the Topham and looks set to run a big race.
