Yarmouth, Nottingham & Bellewstown Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Thursday 2 July

Yarmouth, Nottingham & Bellewstown Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Thursday 2 July

Andrew Mount heads to three meetings in the UK & Ireland on Thursday 2nd July for his best bets of the day. He focuses on two flat fixtures in the UK, as he has a solitary bet at Yarmouth and Nottingham, whilst he has one selection lining up at Bellewstown.

Yarmouth Racing Tips (Thursday 2 July 2026)

Six races take place at Yarmouth at 2.39pm, and it’s that opening contest that will see Andrew’s best bet on the card line up.

2.39 Yarmouth – The Ubermensch (1.5pt win – 11/10 bet365)

Three of the four runners in this 1m3f apprentice handicap have made the running in the recent past and the race could be teed up nicely for The Ubermensch. Michael Bell’s four-year-old is a nine-race maiden but he very much caught the eye when runner-up on Newcastle’s Tapeta surface last week, doing best of the late closers in a 1m2f amateur riders’ handicap on a day that patient tactics were at a huge disadvantage. The return to turf and the longer trip won’t be an issue – he wasn’t beaten by far when third over 1m4f at Doncaster on his penultimate start, where he sat closer to the early pace than ideal.

Nottingham Racing Tips (Thursday 2 July 2026)

A seven-race afternoon card takes place at Nottingham, with a 2.00pm start. However, you need to wait until the final race at 5.15pm for Andrew’s best bet.

5.15 Nottingham – Spirit Of Applause (1pt win – 11/4 bet365, 5/2 generally)

The Tim Easterby-trained Spirit Of Applause has a 0-33 record when racing in Class 4 or better company but has form figures at today’s Class 5 level of 113211334 (4-9) for a profit of £7.83 to a £1 level stake at SP (he’s yet to race in Class 6 company). His latest 22-1 Beverley fourth would have been needed after a 211-day absence and it’s interesting to see Beverley fifth Miss Brazen, trained by Mick and David Easterby, in the line-up again, as that one should help to ensure a decent pace, as should Beaumadier and Hurt You Never.

Bellewstown Racing Tips (Thursday 2 July 2026)

It’s a 5.10pm start at Bellewstown, with Andrew picking out an each-way contender in the 5.40pm contest.

5.40 Bellewstown – Due In June (0.5pt e/w – 9/1 bet365, BetVictor, Paddy Power)

Due In June ran better than her finishing position suggested when a 33-1 ninth of 15 in a 6f handicap at Fairyhouse on June 12th, doing well to finish so close under a patient ride from a difficult draw in stall 9. The first four home that day were drawn in stalls 2, 3, 1, and 4 of 15 and were described by the Racing Post as “soon prominent, disputed lead, soon led clearly”, “midfield” and “disputed lead”. Ian Donoghue’s filly had also hinted at ability in maiden company, especially when a 200-1 sixth of 14 over 7f at Fairyhouse on her penultimate start and it’s interesting to see Colin Keane booked.
