4.50 Yarmouth – Advancing (1pt win – 12/1 bet365, 10/1 generally)
Advancing has form figures in Class 4 company for current trainer Marco Botti of 1441 (2-4) and might be worth chancing now returned to this grade, despite never having won on turf before. He didn’t show much at Newmarket on his penultimate start but that was when racing on the wrong side of the track in Class 3 company at Newmarket and though only sixth in the same grade at Windsor on his latest assignment, the time was very fast. He’s often ridden up with the pace, tactics usually effective over today’s track and trip when the wind isn’t into their faces (there’s only a slight crosswind from the stands’ side today) and he could be on the right part of the track from stall 1.
5.20 Yarmouth – Lady Of Clover (1pt win – 3/1 generally)
The George Scott-trained Lady Of Clover got off the mark at Wolverhampton last time when dropped to classified company for the first time and is taken to follow up in the same grade at Yarmouth this afternoon. The daughter of Kodi Bear won well that day despite failing to settle, and she was third in handicap company over today’s course and distance the time before. Slow turf should hold no fears on breeding and stall 2 could prove useful from what we’ve seen on the straight course at Yarmouth so far this year.
