Yarmouth Racing Tips (Wednesday 13 May 2026)

Andrew’s tip at Yarmouth runs in the opener of their six-race card.

2.08 Yarmouth – Hello Cotai (1pt win – 6/1 bet365)

Hello Cotai caught the eye on his debut for Jim Boyle when beaten by a neck and the same into third place in a 1m2f Class 5 handicap on Lingfield’s Polytrack late last month. That run, his first for 284 days, was probably needed and he looks well handicapped on the form he showed for Adam West in Britain in the 2024 season. I was hoping his next run would be at Epsom – he had a good record there for West – but the drop to Class 6 level will suit and the return to 1m won’t inconvenience him. The five-year-old clocked a good speed figure for the Lingfield run, much quicker than anything else in this line-up recorded last time out, and he’s worth a punt.

York Racing Tips (Wednesday 13 May 2026)

A competitive opening day at York’s Dante meeting sees seven races go to post. Andrew has two selections, both running in a 22-runner handicap.

2.55 York – Rousing Encore (1pt e/w – 16/1 bet365, Sky Bet, both six places, and Paddy Power, five places) & Dark Thirty (0.5pt e/w – 12/1 generally, bet365 and Sky Bet paying six places)

Rousing Encore was an eyecatcher from off the pace when an 18-1 fifth of 13 behind Double Rush at Newmarket’s Craven meeting and was unsuited to making the running when beating only one home in a small field at Doncaster on May 2nd when a bet for this column. In-form Ruth Carr’s six-year-old is likely to revert to patient tactics and he won this race last year.

Dark Thirty did remarkably well to score for the Richard Hannon yard at Doncaster’s Lincoln meeting last season, as he made the running into the headwind in a 19-runner 6f handicap. He added a Salisbury win in June before losing his way and shaped with promise on his debut for the John and Sean Quinn yard at Doncaster in late March, finishing in mid-division after making the running on another headwind-affected day. He did as well as could be expected when upped to Class 2 level at Newmarket next time, finishing a 22-1 seventh of 13 behind handicap blot Double Rush (winner again since). He finished second to Rousing Encore in this race 12 months ago and this looks to have been the aim all along.

Perth Racing Tips (Wednesday 13 May 2026)

Andrew also has one tip in the final race at Perth, his selection running in the finale.

5.25 Perth – Betteryouthanme (0.5pt e/w – 10/1 bet365)

Betteryouthanme looked a future handicap project when a 300-1 seventh of 15 in a maiden hurdle at Wetherby on March 27th and he confirmed that impression when an 80-1 fifth of 11 in a 2m novices’ hurdle at Hexham last Month. Mike Smith’s six-year-old travelled strongly in rear under Toby Wynne and briefly looked like he might get into place contention before his effort petered out. He enters the handicapping realm off a mark of just 87 and, while he needs to improve on what he’s shown so far, he arrives here with the third-best last time out speed figure according to Proform’s ratings and I’m expecting him to be competitive.
