York Racing Tips (Saturday 11th July 2026)
It’s John Smith’s Cup day at York, with seven races starting at 2.02pm. Here’s the best bet for the day on the Knavesmire.
3.12 York – American Affair (1pt win – 6/1)
Last of 26 in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot, American Affair is on a real comback mission in the listed City Walls Stakes at 3.12pm. However, if Jim Goldie’s star sprinter can recapture his best form then he should simply outclass his rivals. He has winning form at York, which is a huge positive, and with a strong pace expected he can storm home in the closing stages. A Group 1 winner at his best, he has been unlucky to be drawn wide, but he’s likely to sit off the pace and work his way through the field in the closing stages, and he can win going away.
Ascot Racing Tips (Saturday 11th July 2026)
Seven races take place at Ascot, with the feature being the Group 2 Summer Mile. It’s that contest at 2.27pm that provides the best bet on the card.
2.27 Ascot – Zeus Olympios (1pt win – 7/2)
Second in the Queen Anne Stakes, More Thunder is yet to prove he’s at his best over a mile and the short-priced favourite is worth taking on here. Karl Burke’s Zeus Olympios finished fourth behind More Thunder at the Royal meeting, but he’s shown some decent form throughout his career and he could well be the one to beat. Whilst More Thunder can normally show his best off a quick pace in a big field, Zeus Olympios has four wins in smallish fields. Burke’s charge will enjoy the drop back down in grade for this contest and he can fend off the fast-finishing Ascot specialist Docklands to claim his first win of the campaign.
Newmarket Racing Tips (Saturday 11th July 2026)
It’s the third and final day of the July Festival at Newmarket, with the July Cup the feature at 4.35pm. Steve heads to the Bunbury Cup and July Cup for his best bets on the card.
3.25 Newmarket – Supido (1pt win – 10/1)
Rated 100 at his peak, Supido will line up in the Bunbury Cup at 3.25pm off a mark of 94. He disappointed on his last outing, but that came on the all-weather at Newcastle. Prior to that he’d run two excellent races at Chester on the turf, with the first of those runs ending in victory. The Ian Williams-trained four-year-old is 4lbs higher for that success at the Roodee, but a return to the grass on Saturday should bring on improvement. Ryan Moore takes the ride, which is a huge positive, and Supido can find enough late on to claim the win.
4.35 Newmarket – Mission Central (1pt win – 6/1)
Aidan O’Brien’s Mission Central showed a blistering turn of foot to land the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot in fine style. Now, the Ballydoyle three-year-old will step up to six furlongs for the Group 1 July Cup at 4.35pm and looks more than capable of landing a telling blow. He was doing all his best work at the finish that day, albeit off a strong pace, but the step up in trip here could quite easily bring on more improvement. Commonwealth Cup hero Venetian Sun is a big danger, but if Ryan Moore can hold on to Mission Central long enough then he could well storm home in the closing stages and get his head in front of the shadow of the post once again.
