York Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Saturday 13 June

Andrew Mount focuses his attentions on the quality flat card at York on Saturday 13th June. He has four tips across the action on the Knavesmire, with some eye-catching selections throughout the afternoon.

York Racing Tips (Saturday 13 June 2026)

Seven races take place at York on Saturday, with a 1.50pm start. Check out Andrew’s best bets for the day here.

2.25 York – Daydreama (0.5pt e/w – 25/1 bet365, Sky Bet, Paddy Power, all paying six places)

I made cases for all three Tim Easterby runners when discussing this 7f handicap on Weekend Watch and have decided to put up Daydreama as the main bet (the others are Son and Brighton Boy and I’ll be osaving on both as well as perming them in forecast/tricasts). Daydreama is the fastest of the tri according to Proform’s ratings, is a good statistical fit for this race and he looks over-priced because of his 22-1 ninth of 14 at Carlisle last time That run was excusable as he failed to stay a stiff mile and his patient style was no help. Aside from seasonal debuts, his record over 6f-7f reads 11732 (2-5) with the last two runs over today’s course and distance when placed at 50-1 and 20-1.

14:25 Sky Bet Supporting Macmillan Handicap

3.35 York – Advertised (1pt e/w – 12/1 generally)

One of the saved systems in my database is backing Grant Tuer-trained runners on their first outing since a gelding operation, with the score since the beginning of 2021 standing at seven winners from 27 bets (26% strike-rate) for a profit of £58.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£72.19 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). The expected number of wins was only 3.05 (A/E = 2.30). Ten of the beaten horses finished between second and fifth and Advertised (stall 3 of 22) – the latest qualifier and my Weekend Watch nap – looks worth an each-way punt. The three-year-old beat only a couple home after stumbling at the start at Newmarket on his latest outing but his other runs in Britain have returned form figures of 21142 (2-5), with the last two defeats by just half a length. He’s a good statistical fit for this 6f handicap – seven of the last ten winners were drawn in stall 5 or lower (backing all 50 qualifiers returned a profit of £34.50 to a £1 level stake at SP), while those who prepped in another Class 2 handicap were seven from 62 (+£26.50). Combining these two angles gives five winners from 20 bets for a profit of £51.50, with three of the beaten horses finishing second (20-1, 16-1 and 6-1).

15:35 Churchill Tyres Supporting Macmillan Sprint Handicap

4.50 York – Grizedale (1pt e/w – )

Blindly backing stalls 1,2,3 and 4 in this 1m1f handicap would have hit ten winners in the 15 renewals since 2010 for a profit of £35.25 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 5.30, A/e = 1.89). At Betfair SP after 2% commission the profit was £57.44. Eighteen of the 45 beaten horses finished second, third or fourth and an each-way bet on Grizedale (stall 3 of 17 could pay dividends despite the 224-day absence since his seventh place at Newmarket last autumn. That run was better than it looked as he actually fared second best of the disadvantage far side group from his poor low draw and a gelding operation over the winter could bring about improvement. Principality, who emerged best of the far side bunch in that November 1st Newmarket contest, has already won this term and Daniel and Claire Kubler’s four-year-old, whose other runs have produced form figures of 2123 (1-4), has been dropped 3lb to a mark of 85.

16:50 Ice Co Supporting Macmillan Handicap

5.25 York – Duran (0.5pt e/w – )

Duran beat only one home in a big field at Ascot last month but that was in the draw-affected race won by Far Above The Law (first four drawn 13, 10, 14 and 11 of 17) and he had little chance on the far side from stall 3. Several of the low-drawn horses from that 5f handicap have run well since and Nigel Tinkler’s five-year-old will be happier back at York where his record reads 1180 (2-4). The eighth place was upgradeable as he was poorly drawn in stall 15 of 17 (non-runner adjusted) when the action was far side with the first six home coming from stalls 2, 1, 5, 3, 10 and 4). His other York defeat came in Class 2 company and today’s Class 4 contest is far more suitable. I’d prefer to be drawn low than stall 13 of 19 but he’s still worth a small each-way interest.

17:25 Fordy Marshall Handicap
